Ok, i know that depending on your subscription choice at the start depends on what goodies you will receive, but, I thought that some of us got a month free of play, does this mean we will have to wait a month to get our veteran items seeing how we won't be charged for the first month???

Havent really heard anything about a free month of play. Maybe for the people who newly bought XIV on the ps3, but owners of a 1.0 version, i'm not too sure about. Think we have to pay from the get-go.

Taken from lodestone:

Welcome Back Campaign
For those of you who have applied the registration code of FINAL FANTASY XIV Version 1.0 before Saturday, September 29, 2012 can play for free until September 9, 2013.
* Starting September 10, 2013, players will be required to pay a subscription fee.

So, it's not a month, my apologies, more like a week or two.

It's not based on your subscription choice at start. It's is based on how long you keep subscribing. For example, the only difference between someone who pays 3 months up front and someone that pays 3 months, one month at a time, is when they receive their rewards. The person paying up front will receive them all at once, while the month to month guy will get them as he pays for each individual month. And the rewards will be based on paid time, I'm sure, and not promo time.

Dragon, i understand how/when you receive the items, my question is; if i sub for 3 months upfront, will i have to wait until the promo time is over to get my items, or will i get them right away even though i have not been charged?

Sorry if i'm being confusing

I'm sure you will get them as soon as you pay. Don't quote me on that, but seems logical to me.

Yes if you pay for a 3 months subscription they send you your 3 month veteran reward right away not after 3 months. Now whether your card gets charged before the 2 free weeks are up is another question making you have to wait 2 weeks even if you have subscribed for a 3 month cycle.

This is what i wasn't sure on, If i sub for 3 months on the 24th, will i get charged right away or will i be charged after the 2 weeks and if i do have to wait the 2 weeks to get charged, will i have to wait to get my items as well.

My best guess is it will charge you after the free time is up, which would mean we need to wait till than for veteran awards. Now this is still better than having to wait 3 months for them so can't complain....unless you really want to then go nuts, I'll smile and nod.

Lets say you pay on the 27th.. you get billed on the 27th and get your items that day. Sooo.. where do we get teh free 2 weeks? I think it will be at the end 27th aug -4th oct would be the first pay period.

As far as I know 1.0 users get 2 weeks free and I'm guessing people who buy the box get some free time. You may have to set up a subscription even if you don't plan on continuing past your free time but you will not be charged until the free time is up. It was like that in all other sub games I've played.
