Well the thread title says it.

Which class can get to 15 the quickest? Quickest leveling, best survivability in the main scenario quests up to 15, etc. I'm not talking the best class in general for all the levels, just the one that would do the best up to 15.

Might have to reroll on another character, just need to get to 15 to unlock airships and traveling throughout the world. Really only interested in leveling fisher until DRK comes out so yeah, that's why I'm wondering what the quickest and easiest way to 15 is.

Thanks for any help.

Well, you're on it. Arcanist.

Between you and the 'Buncle, you can pretty much solo anything around your level with ease. Not to mention, you've got 3 choices being in Limsa. Arcanist, Maurader, and Rogue after you get level 10 on one of the first two.

That said, keep in mind, you MAY still need to level Maurader to a certain level for support skills for Dark Knight. We don't know how these "Pure Jobs" will operate yet, and MRD has tanking cooldowns. (Yes, Dark Knight is a tank, you may need skills from Gladiator and Maurader if that's what your support classes will be, if any.) So you may not want to opt for the 'fastest' to 15, but the one that will save you the most time in the long run.

Thing is, we're still multiple months away before we may even know that much about Dark Knight. I may be completely wrong. But it is a tank, and you will likely need tanking gear. Any gear you acquire for MRD will likely help your Dark Knight level, so there is that.

That's about all I can offer you for info man. This is a combat game and avoiding combat is going to make the game harder for you to enjoy. I'd probably worry less about wasting your time and more about just having fun and exploring around a while. Take it easy.

It'll take all combat classes roughly the same amount of time to reach level 15. Things don't vary much at that low of a level. So, just go with the one you enjoy most.

Taking a longer view, your time spend on first few levels (for most game with the "levels" concept) will be small relative to the later level.

All combat classes are quick to 15 and all crafting classes are quick to 50 depending if you have someone to power level you and leve availability. Due to the bajillions of copy/pasted quests scattered about in all regions you could hit 15 in no time.

If you're thinking ahead towards Dark Knight, realistically you want everything to around 50 for those final set of abilities to cross class and potentially the gear, HOWEVER, keep in mind Yoshida said there will be a change in the class/job system and they may even introduce gear like XI/1.x, which had special effects on them other than "STR/DEX/PIE/ACC/DET" etc, stuff that actually directly enhance your traits/abilities. So getting gear now for then will be slightly pointless as even 2.5 will make 2.4 and below gear useless (for the most part) excluding Poetics sets, so we have no clue if DRK will focus on STR/VIT/DEX or even Parry as their primary stat, so it would be beneficial to go beyond 15 on all classes if you're taking the "Just in case' route.
