Best locations in Final Fantasy XIVFollow

#1 Oct 19 2015 at 7:44 AM Rating: Excellent
I had recently been thinking about my favorite places to hang out in Eorzea. Places where I craft, places I go to be alone, or sometimes I try to find places that I rarely see people go to. I ended up making a video about it a week and finally decided to just post it here too.

I've love to hear what your favorite places in the game are. This list is my favorite top 10 places in the game. I apologize for the audio quality, as when I had made this video I had just gotten back into video making.

I plan to create a lore video series in the future as well. Hopefully people who want to catch up on the lore, or skipped a lot of it will be able to enjoy it.

Very nice vid!

Heavensward definitely added some outstanding locations... hard to deny Zenith as being one of the best, and possibly my favorite.

That said, I logged in last night for the first time in awhile and had a lot of fun, and I think I may start playing more often again... so I'll keep this in mind and add a reply with my final answer. Smiley: smile

Thanks so much! I was a little nervous about posting on the forum as on other sites people spam it with their content so much that people get fed up.
I have suffered a lot of burnout with the game recently due to gathering/roulette dailies but I hope that November's patch really gets that excitement going again like when Heavensward came out.

I'm looking forward to your final answer on this topic ^^.

Bloodshore/Eastern La Noscea is one of the first that comes to mind. It bears a resemblance to Valkurm Dunes, which was one of my favorite zones in XI.

Wanderer's Palace has a very old school FF vibe to it, Snowcloak as well. In fact on the whole dungeons > zones as far as atmosphere goes.

Highbridge is pretty cool! I also like the spot in upper LA noscea with the dragon boned.

I spent some time ime in game though just moving around through zones. And as detailed as the initial zones of ARR were, it is now apparent what a step forward the zones in HW are. Zenith really is pretty amazing. Can't wait to revisit these places during the upcoming storyline.

I think my favorite zone is South Shroud, near Camp Tranquil. I love the peaceful marsh and the lake and the mountains in the distance and the endangered turtles with their own personal cadre of guards. The way the sun sets over the Amdapor ruins. The way the entire zone turns spooky in Tension weather.

I'll answer this differently depending on what character you're talking about. I find my perception changes with the character, just like my skills do (Verdha's a better WHM than Waenlona, while Waen is a much better SCH than Verdha).

Waenlona really likes hanging out in the grounds of the FC hall in Mist, and the lands around Nym; as for Verdha, she loves to be wherever there are miqo'te women in a hot spring (Forgotten Springs, but most of all in the "secret" pool in Bronze Lake).

Me, I'll take the Dravanian Hinterlands for the sights, and The Observatorium for the music.

I totally agree about character perception. Music is also a big factor. The game is really pretty in general so even choosing 10 was difficult for me.

Ok, seeming I took part of the design of the FC hall, I have to ask what your favorite public and private rooms are. Now I'm curious.

(Context: this is a heavy RP FC on Balmung)

Waen doesn't go places she isn't cleared to go ICly. That means the whole of the upstairs is out of bounds, as are places like the restricted study (she STILL hasn't officially applied for access). So my view is somewhat limited. I do like pretty much everything I've seen: I like the layout of the main floor and especially the basement -- the way the crafting area and the lounge/bar are arranged is excellent.

I did visit a lot of the unrestricted private rooms last night, just to answer this post, and I must say that oddly enough I like the Barracks the best. It has a very comfortable feel to it, with the portraits of the three leaders nicely arranged to make it welcoming and inclusive. It feels "lived in"; I like that.
