European 'Playtime' Guild for Live (open to non Euro's too)Follow

The idea behind the guild is to create a family style guild of Freeport aligned players for socialising, grouping, questing, raiding and above all to have fun together. We've been running through Beta on Beta 2 as 'Ssinssrigg lueth Belaern' but may well choose a different name for Live.

The guild will be focused on European playtimes, with our ‘Prime Time’ (i.e. peak member login time and activities window), starting at 6pm UK Time, 7pm Europe (which translates to 10am on the US West Coast and 1pm on the US East Coast).

The guild will be located on a US server. This is for several reasons, the first being that the US servers will be much quieter during our prime time than the European servers would be, and it is felt that the European servers will be more populated. Also we want to see a mix of players from all over the world involved in the guild, and lastly because we didn’t want any chance of Ubisoft being involved with our accounts or managing our server, now or at any time in the future.

Membership is open to anyone from any time zone, as long as they play consistently during our prime time. For example, US players who play during the US daytime and cant, or don’t want to, play during the US evenings should find our playtimes very suitable.

The guild is looking for members who play often, at least 3 days out of 7 during our prime time. Of course this doesn’t mean you can’t play outside of our prime time too.

Initially the guild will total 35 Main characters, so that all members can be Patrons without the guild being penalised.

Members may guild as many alternate characters as they wish but only one of these may be a Patron at any one time.

There will be no restrictions on how often you switch Patron status between your characters, unless SoE introduce any measures designed to restrict this or measures that penalise the guild.

The guild will be led jointly by two people, both holding the rank of Leader.

We aim to have one Officer for every seven members, however officer-ships will not be handed out just to ‘make up the numbers’.

There will also be a special rank titled ‘Raid Officer’ if required. This will hold the rank of Officer but will not have the same people orientated duties as that of a normal Officer. It is felt that this then frees the Raid Leader to get on and lead raids.

The plan initially is to hold at least two to three events per week

Visitation and participation in the guild website and message boards is a requirement of membership. It is the view of the Leadership that the message boards comprise a large part of guild life, and thus involvement in the message boards ensures members are up date with events and goings on.

We intend to use the ‘Need Before Greed’ system for dealing with item drops on Guild events. However we do reserve the right to consider other ‘loot’ systems (i.e. DKP) in the future if the need arrives.

We may well also create a Qeynos based guild too, although this is not finalised at this time.

We don’t aim to be the most uberest guild on our chosen server, or even to appear regularly in the servers ‘top 100’ statistics. The leaders are down to earth people who are not on ‘power trips’, think they’re perfect or give themselves fancy titles, we’re everyday people and we intend to stay that way, but we can and will Lead when its required. We want this to be a guild that’s a great place to call home, and be respected on the server for being such.

Interested?

If so visit our official temporary message board and post an application, the URL is:-

However I will be out of the country for fours days from Thursday 4th Nov till Sunday 7th Nov, but rest assured I will be in contact with any applicants ASAP on my return.

If you do decide to have a Qeynos branch of your guild, I would be interested in that. Are you planning to locate your guild on the roleplaying server or a normal server at launch?

Samatman - No we dont have any plans to play on a role-play server. Must admit I didnt know there was going to be an official roleplay server.

Payzee - Not sure if this is the answer you sought, but the main differences are that all the Evil races are based in Freeport and all the Good races are based in Qeynos. Some races are neutral (like Barbarians and Gnomes) and can pick either.

At a minimum I will advocate that a server be designated "roleplaying preferred," as that's something quite important to many players. Unfortunately the same kind of thing wouldn't be possible with a PvP server, as simply turning on a PvP flag and throwing balance to the wind would be a disservice to the customer base. Nor can we just copy over server code from EQLive--even if such a thing were possible, copying their rules without proper testing and tweaking wouldn't be a good solution.

This statement supercedes previous commentary on the subject.

I had read this previously and not noticed the date attached to it. The RP server will be either officially 'RP designated' or failing that, the 7th server (sorted a-z), which the EQ2 RP forums have decided will be the unofficial RP server.
