Just wondering but do you like the new class system with ARCHTYPE, CLASSES, and SUB-CLASSES or the class system of the old EQ more?
I kinda like it more in EQ2, but now I cant be a halfing pally, but it kinda adds more class to every race, unlike EQ1 where only Lizard ppl and humans could be monks and so on. I just wish they still had Beastlords or something like them, maybe they will add a new archtype with them or something like that later on in the game I hope so.
And Here is something yall might like.
Also on EQ2 when I am rich I am going to make a dwarf Monk that will be funny and cool.

I think you can be a halfling pally i think you can start out as any race and be any class you just have to do a series of quest I think to become that class.

Not so much that I want to be a halfing pally just saying that it is just one of many class that some races have lost, but they have almost gained class like a halfing can be a bard. And if I do make a pally since a halfing cant be one I will just be a dwarf or frog. I only like short races. :)

The only limitation on subclasses is alignment. Your choice of good/evil is what limits your selection. Halflings have a good alignment, so they can be paladins....

The only requirement on what class you can eventually become has to do with which city you align yourself with. In beta, up to 19 you were one of several general classes. When you hit 19 you received a quest to go choose your final subclass. It was also possible at 15 to perform a Betrayal quest where you change which city you are aligned with. This would allow for something like an ogre paladin. Or a woodelf necromancer. Once you hit 20 and your chosen sub-class however, that's it.. you can no longer betray and you are stuck with the city you chose.

Yeah but if you look at the races it say under halfing "Traditional Roles: Scout, Priest" which means you cant be a fight so there for you cant be a Pally.

Someone hasnt done their homework /looks at his watch .... in awhile. eq2 is arac like they said before some race/class combinations require you to do a betrayal quest, but YES any race can be any class bud. the traditional roles just state what they'd be best at, not what they're required to be.
