Bad Disks!! Arrrrgggghhh!!!Follow

Great. I wait at Best Buy while they unload the truck. Get the first collectors DVD off it and scurry home to install. And what happens??? Disk 2 is BAD!!!! Invalid file system. Looking at it at an angle it looks like something was spilled on it duinr manufact. A huge ameoba shaped blob of off color media covers 3/4 of the disk. Now a 45 minute drive back to town and HOPE they still have some left. This is the quality control we have all grown to know and love. Only this time it cost me over $90 after tax. Not an impressive start.

That blows!! Did you check what files where downloaded, if you have the everquest2.exe(sp?) file you may be able to start the patcher program and download the rest of the files from the patch server.

There's a thread on the official EQ2 board by someone who had the same problem. He contacted Sony CS and they sent him a file (eq2.exe or everquest2 maybe), he ran it, and after 3 hrs of patching, had a working copy of eq2 on his computer.

No info from Sony ..no email messege ..just stories of " Bad Disks" from several folks in the community...

Collecters edition is stuck in customs.

Quote:
We Apologize for EQ II: Collectors Edition Customs Delays

To Station Store customers who have pre-ordered or ordered the EverQuest II: Collectors Edition:

We experienced an unfortunate delay with U.S. Customs in clearing importation of recent shipments of the "tin" in which it is packaged. As a result we will not begin shipping the orders for these units until late this week.

We offer you our apology. At this time we would like to offer you the ability to cancel your Station Store pre-order or order. No refund is necessary as your product has not been shipped and you have not been charged for the purchase.

To cancel send your Station Name and Order number to returns@soe.sony.com. Requests for cancellation must be received by 6:00 PM PST on Wednesday, November 10, 2004. Once you request the cancellation you will be unable to reinstate that order. If you decide you want the product you will need to visit the Station Store to repurchase it.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Sincerely,

Sony Online Entertainment
