With the betrayal quests, can I do these at any time in the game?

Can I become a Troll Dark Knight then betray and be allowed into the good cities? Would this totally mess up my class advancement since I would need training, items or what not from the evil towns?

You can only do the betrayal quests up to, I think, level 17 or 18. This means you have to pick a permanent city/alignment before you get to delve into a sub class at level 20. I am pretty sure this means no goody-goody, flower sniffing shadowknights wielding the power of love and hope...

From what I have read, you can only do the betrayel quest between 15-19 as far as levels go, and then never switch again. So, no I dont think you can do that. Though it would be rather interesting, it would be impossible because as you mentioned how the quests for the classes are laid out to be town specific.

I guess that sounds logical. You are allowed to change alignment before it matters, not after. Good to know, thanks.

You can do your Betrayal quests from any point between levels 15 to 17, as I recall. Once you start it, you're level capped at 17 until it's finished.

You may be able to betray twice, but given the amazing amount of work and XP you'll be getting by doing the quest itself it's likely you'll be at 17 and 220% into the next level, which means you'd autoding upon completion of it and be unable to betray again.

It won't ***** you, since you have to do it before selecting your subclass; therefore, if you were a Crusader in Freeport, and therefore going to become a SK, you are now a Crusader in Qeynos post-betrayal, and going to become a Paladin at 20.
