Welcome to the Zam forums!
Interesting topic, however the rating system can be very misleading on certain items. Lets say you have an option of two bows... one does 100-150 damage, and has a 1.5 delay with a 40 rating... the next one does 150-200 damage but has a 3.0 delay and is rated 55... (i don't play any class that uses a bow other than for pulls so bear with my math). I would actually take the 40 rating weapon over the 50 simply because it does damage faster with its auto attack.
Lets take a Mythical for another example:
- My myth (level 80) after I did the convergence quest is rated 109 ... stats are 64 Sta / 62 Int, 8 Crit, 5% casting speed, 137-411 damage 5.0 delay (not that I ever auto attack on my necro)
- A dropped staff I got (level 87) is rated 84.9 ... 18 Sta/Int, 7 Crit, 1.4% Spell Reuse, 0.4% Potency, 74-138 damage 1.5 delay, Applies Quicksilver Blood V to pets
Now thats a HUGE difference in weapon ratings. My belief is that the extra 46 and 44 Sta/Int, and the crushing damage, are the main things that really make the Myth a higher rated weapon (aside from the method to obtain it that is).
Perhaps an Admin can chime in though and tell us the pros/cons of a rating search system, or if it's even at all possible to implement.
