Hey all!
My son has an 86 Swashy that I am trying to learn how to run. Gone to high grey zones and for a guy that has been around EQ and EQ2 for years now, this toon seems hard to run. I love my 90 Warlock, but this one excapes me.
Thinking about rolling up a young-un and running him for a while but I would really like to be able to have some sort of idea what the best Swashy strats (particular spell order I guess is what I am asking) vs a solo mob.
No, I didnt ebay it. So lets get that right out of the way. Its just that he has lost the desire to play and is out chasing skirts. (Cant say that I blame him!)
Also, what are the cool tricks you have found on your swashy that you would like to share?

I think rolling up a newb one to get the feel before completely diving in would definitely help.
If you're soloing, use the defensive stance. I didn't for the longest time and had so much trouble taking hits with long regen times afterward, but once I started using that it got a lot better. I don't go and hug ^^^ mobs but I can solo my heart out.
Also, Velium Throw is a great opener. Not only does it have a good chance to snare the mob, you throw daggers crazy fast and it does some darn nice damage. Some mobs will be half or more dead before they even reach me.
Walk the Plank is an AA ability that turns the mob's back to you. I don't know if your son ever got this but afaik most Swashies do invest in it. It's a blue icon with blades. Use that and you can get off at least the backstab and one or both flank attacks.
En Garde and Daring Attack are nice short duration buffs if it's a hard or long fight. En Garde has a chance of counter attacking and Daring Attack will add a proc to your melee hits.
If you're having a lot of trouble with a mob and have running room, you can kite easily using Velium Throw and whatever the other snare is. It takes longer but the less you get hit, the better. ;)
