Chains of Eternity, first impressions:Follow

#1 Nov 18 2012 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
I like it. Short and sweet I suppose always works best, but I really enjoy the quest line so far anyway. I just finished most of the quests in the Eidolon Jungle, apart from one quest that is apparently bugged.

The fights are at times quite tough, especially those solo instances. (well, The temple of Cazic Thule was, the fear gate was a lot simpler.) It's perhaps all a bit too lineair as a whole so far but that's always been the case I guess. If anything, it's all rather swift. One or two quests for an area and then on to the next one. The mobs themselves in the jungle have a nasty defense spell and some can even survive my dreaded Devastation Fist, never seen that happen before. (when it's not an arrow up mob ofcourse.)

Drops are low so far. Quest rewards are nice, growing adornments are fun to have. The only thing I do hope for, is that the price of the adornment dislodgers will drop. Having to pay 100 pp (on Unrest anyway) to be able to dislodge just one adornment isn't really cheap. Yet if it's for a levelled up green adornment, there's little choice unfortunately. (or for a yellow one, I just do not feel like redoing all those daily quests just to get ten crystals to buy one yellow adornment)

The visuals are good. Nice colour changes in one zone.

But levelling is slow. After those quests in the Jungle, I'm at 85% in lvl 92. That's not a lot, I'm starting to think that I'm going to have to grind about 3 levels after having done the quests. (solo ones anyway) I'm not looking forward to that to be honest.

Anyone else like this latest expansion?
