JAEFo has been trying to get people directed to his 'ask a tester' thread, but considering there appears to be the hierarchy for it within the Allakhazam discussion boards structure, would it be possible to simply open a second forum where people without beta could ask all the gameplay questions they ever wanted to?

Or maybe just a sticky? It kills me to see all these topics that just ask a question that gets answered in one post, then just sit there.. idling..

Yes, but, the same questions get asked sometimes. People can reference people's prevous questions if there's a sort of FAQ forum. I know if the 'ask a tester' thread gets up to 40-50 posts, I'm not going to want to scan it to see if my question has already been asked...and not everyone uses or knows to use it. Not uncommon for someone to immediately come to the forums, not search, and just post. Yes, it's ignorant, and yes it happens far more on other boards, but if those people immediately saw a forum for it, they might go to that first.

If you'll take a look at the date of these posts, you might notice that it wasn't stickied when we were talking about this.

That's like coming back to this forum in 2006 and drudging up a "When is WoW coming out?" and saying "Hey, it's already out, what the hell are you guys talking about!"

You're assuming it will be out in 2006. Nobody knows, ok!?

Check out the other allakazham game sites and how they are organized.

Also, repeat questions will always happen, it's a fact of life.

FFXI board has couple hundred pages, and the same questions get repeated over and over. It's annoying, yes, but it's a fact of life.

Might as well get used to it.

As a non-beta tester, I wouldn't be posting/asking quesions in another forum, because I want answers from the beta testers.

I don't mind if you ask a question someone else has already asked. I do mind if you ask a question that is either very simple to find elsewhere, or that has been asked and answered repeatedly across many new threads. I just figured at the time that people might appreciate better to consolidate the actual questions. I gave up that idea long ago, however I did just start a new thread to answer the basic questions that are asked in perpetua.

(I have no idea if "in perpetua" is a legitimate phrase, but if it isn't, I just made it one.)
