WoW vs EQ2Follow

#1 Aug 29 2004 at 9:24 PM Rating: Decent
Im not sure if anyone here was lucky enough to beta test both WoW and EQ2 but I am having a hard time to decide which one to preorder... I was an old school EQ player and I sitll love EQ. then I went to Camelot and I loved that as well. I have gotten all the way through all the lvls and all the dungeons of both games so now I am ready for something new and beautiful. I just need help making a decision... what makes each unique? and what makes one better than the other? I have a hard time finding info on EQ2 but im sure its gonna be amazing and Ive heard from people that WoW will be more of a noob MMO because it is made by blizzard and they are hoping that old blizzard fans will come play. Err I just want to get this overwith so I can stop thinking to much! Help me friends =)

Now before JAEFo emerges in all his flametastic fury, I just want to say that there's a big flaw to comparing the two: NIETHER GAME HAS YET TO COME OUT! Until retail is upon us, we'll never be able to compare the 2 fairly and accurately.

If we were to compare the two now, it'll probabley look like this:
EQ - Graphics, Strong Community from previous entry, Aiming for a casual audience
WoW- Graphics, Aiming for casual audience, Strong Community from previous games of the series

Both do various things differently and until they they are both released, we'll never really know how differently. If you enjoy EQ and they way EQ does things, I figure that EQ2 will be the game for you. Here are two links for both games:

EQ2: http://everquest2.station.sony.com/

WoW: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/

I think its best to take in all the info you need yourself and just come to a conclusion.

Why don't you search both games on google. Then read all the info. Other than that it comes down to what you like in an MMORPG. If you tell us we could prooviide you with more info.

/em watches Jaefo's head explode, and destroy the width of the page in the process.

Why do you want to pre-order a game months before a *real* release date is even offered? Don't trust what it says at EB, on Gamepsy, what your sister's boyfriend told you...there is no release date on either game right now. So why bother until you know the game is coming out? The EQ2 beta hasn't even been going for a month, and it's only open to friends and family so far. Give it another month or two, and people will actually be able to tell you something viable.
