I have seen the name of this mod mentioned a million and one times but i cannot for the life of me remember it.

Basically, i need Discord Action Bars again, but they no longer work. So what is similiar to that? Also I would like a nifty unit frame mod that has the cool animated characters in it.

Thanks.

Both of those look great, I'll give them a shot tonight.

Trinity Action Bars wasnt the mod i was thinking of, but it looks similar to Discord.

Thanks :)

Bongos!

It's awesome and extremely customizable. I mean it's no FlexBar, but unless you want to spend hours and hours writing scripts, it provides amazing functionality for its very short learning curve.

I have liked Bongos the most so far.

X-Perl Unit Frames is by far my favorite addon. They look flippin' sweet.

And for bars, I also use Bongos. Very easy to set up and customizable in every which way.

I just redid my UI last night. Xperl Unit Frames, TrinityBars, and Arcanum(mage).

Looks great, just takes getting used to switching Smiley: frown

Bongos rocks. I also used Nurfed for UI.

Bongos didnt work for me.

When i was stealthed, "5" was cheapshot, but if i pressed 5 it kept trying to gouge, which is "5" unstealthed. Also couldnt distract. So i dunno whats up with that, have to play around with it some more.

Hmmm ... I had that problem and I figured it out, but I can't remember how.

Oh - try this- Do your keybindings WITHIN bongos (even for 1 2 3 4 5 6 ...). I think that'll fix it.

I need to revamp my UI, rework my buttons for healing. Get a threat meter, raid stuff etc.

Any suggestions?

Id recommend what the other people recommended :P

Some minor quirks that can be worked out and ends up looking slick.

If you want to try out a compilation, I recommend either Mazzle (which can be a bit hoggish on resources, but looks nice -- although I have to go through the settings to make it work how I want it) or Photek. Photek does a pretty good job keeping their (his?) addons up to date and they look pretty nice as well.

Heh, I'd hate to see you do so much work on your UI only to have it broken next week with patch.

Oh wait, that's my reasoning for using just the bare essentials and only mods that can and will be updated patch day.

I really like grid for raid frames.
For healing you can setup macros that use the mouseover condition to cast your spells and you don't have to actually change targets to spot heal the whole raid.
For tanking it shows who has aggro so I know whether to save a squishy or let the rogue or hunter shake aggro themselves.
For magic or melee dps i dont really care about all the info that I do in other roles so I'm happy it takes up a very small amount of screen real estate.

I havent checked it out yet, but Flexbar2 is close to an early beta state from what I skimmed on wowace.com forums last week.

Will it come with an easy to use interface? Flexbar was way too complicated for me :(

Sounds like good news but the post is almost two months old.

Waterfall is a library for GUI controls so if they ever get around to finishing it, yes there will be a graphical configuration screen.

To me, that's saying:

"I dont mind being gimped all the time so that my life isnt' made complicated once every 2 months."

Anyway -

On the topic..

KT what HUD are you using? I'm using ArcHud and I like the look of yours better I think.

Also, does anyone know of a good mod to move the buff frame? KT's screenshot kind of illustrates a problem I've run into - I want to move the spots where the buffs and debuffs show up, and I can't find a mod that lets me do it.

Oh and KT - one suggestion-

use the ~ key for stealth, and then you can move everything else closer to your left hand. IMO 7 for kick and 8 for kidney shot is just too out of the way (that is assuming your hand is resting at WASD keys).

FlexBar is great if you don't mind spending hours learning it and writing scripts. That works for certain people. Personally, I got bored and frustrated after a couple of hours and gave up :P

There are undeniably minor benefits to using it... but I'll have to go without. For me, Bongos functionality works great.

Here is a pic of my interface:

(Edit- I don't know why the JPEG quality is so bad. I used photoshop to convert it ..)

I'm not in combat, so the HUD is hidden... but you can see the placement of the buffs is off. I'd really like to move them to a more eye-level location, anyway. On a big monitor, Blizzard's idea of health bars on the upper left, buffs on the upper right, abilities on the bottom and action in the middle is terrible for fast paced gameplay like PvP.

Im using MetaHud.

As for buffs, CT Buff Mod has a nice dragable box for buffs that looks pretty slick. With the map in the corner it was kinda ugly, but now that the real estate is freed up it would probably look pretty slick.

And for the keybindings... I have very long fingers and can stretch them very far. Im kinda a freak like that, but it works pretty good for me.

Tilde is actually my button unlock key. Come to think of it that is a really retarded place to put it, but its been there forever =S.

I didn't say I didn't use mods. I just said that I use very few. Once you get a bar mod there is there anything that is absolutly necessary that you have that other people don't?

I also wonder how the Arena teams are doing in their tournament without any mods.

Old habits die hard ... but that's an awfully convenient location for button unlock :P

(I don't have button unlock bound ... I just use the option to leave it always locked unless I shift-click a button)
