Does anybody know of a good, or at leas tolerable rpg for a notebook PC. Its a very good notebook as they go - Dell 1100, Intel chip, 1GB ram with both Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity . But it is still limited by the 11" screen and inherent speed issues.
No way I can replicate WoW, I know - but with all the game fanatics here, I thought someone might know of an acceptable surrogate.

On Steam I bought Avadon: The Black Fortress it's a pretty basic RPG you do things like moving you can see a visible grid as you select where to move to, you fight mobs in a turn base like some of the console games I grew up on you get a strike they get a strike, if there are 2 of them they each get a strike before you get to go again etc.
I had a lot of fun with it in the short time I played it but I really didn't like their vendor system, IE I sold an item I hadn't intended to, sold it for like 5 of whatever their currency was and it would have cost me 2500 gold to buy it back... even though I had just sold it to them. It works on this cruddy old laptop so I'd imagine a more modern netbook would do ok, only requires 512MB of RAM and you've got that beat.

[Widows chews up more RAM each new release, so that has an impact on available resources.]
WOW is actually one of the friendlier games for ordinary computers. It looks like you could possibly handle Dungeons & Dragons Online.

WOW is actually one of the friendlier games for ordinary computers. It looks like you could possibly handle Dungeons & Dragons Online.
If you like the Diablo style of game you might look into Torchlight. It released in 2009, so it shouldn't be very taxing, it even has a netbook mode.
It's super boring though. No story at all.

The only "Dell 1100" I know off hand is the Inspiron 1100 from about 2005... Terrible 7-9 lb piece of junk. But you say it has "4G connectivity" so it must be newer (as a side note, there is no "4G" standard).
Regardless, I don't see why you couldn't play WoW. I mean, it won't be beautiful, but it's definitely playable on just about anything made in the last 3-5 years. I used to play WoW on a iBook G4 circa 2006 w/ 32 MB of VRAM. I also used to play on a P3 w/ a Radeon 9200 graphics card from 2001. Just turn down all of the settings as low as you have to and you should have WoW on the road.
If your laptop is really old and can't handle it, check out gog.com (Good old Games). It has a ton of great games for low prices that will play on just about anything. That site is particularly popular for netbook users.
