This interview with Chris Metzen for the upcoming big event in MOP is something we have seen in RL the past couple of months. Now Alliance is playing UN by taking down dictator.

And a way I like to illustrate this, even in the Orgrimmar encounter (bounces up and down in his seat a little, excited). Well, one of the main side quests is Varian being very specific: "Protect the kids. We're not here to conquer these people; we're here to bring down a guy that needs bringin' down." So imagine artillery, imagine the soldiers -- it's gonna be horrific -- but Varian saying, "We're the good guys. We're not here to massacre or enact vengeance on these people. They've been put upon by a bad man."
Garrosh is such an evil guy that
even his own faction wants to oust him in MoP.
Though I'd have to wonder... what about Sylvanas? She does worse crap than Garrosh ever did... unless Garrosh takes asshattery to a whole new dimension during MoP's events.
I'd think that with her trying to plague the whole world, Sylvanas would be an even more evil/bad enemy than Garrosh...
Either way, the lore makes sense -- Garrosh is a poor leader (remember the "raid" on Twilight Highlands? The guy sucks at tactical warfare, even the goblins know better than he does) and he's too power hungry, and too bloodthirsty.
People like that tend to dig their own graves and the Alliance is all too happy to kill the Horde warchief, especially when they have a very clear moral backing to do so, as well as "support" from the Horde itself.
But yet as much as Varian dislikes the Horde and the Orcs, the repeated talks or attempts at talking to the Horde (esp with Jaina's help) might help him to realize that the Humans aren't the only sentient life on the planet and that not all orcs are necessarily
bad, per se. They just have a bloodthirsty leader that needs to be killed. Maybe Varian just wants to end the war. Kill Garrosh, get someone in power who isn't a bloodthirsty idiot, and maybe the war will slack off and everyone's better off until the next expansion? Who knows.
Edit: Also, now that Thrall is more Earthen Ring than he is Horde, perhaps Thrall and Varian have a good talk, or something. I'm interested in seeing how it all plays out!
