Professional players tend to burn through computer accessories like I burn through beer. A slightly lower mouse sensitivity for precision means you have to lift and drop the mouse more often, which decreases the lifespan by a lot. Mashing those keys non-stop for 12 hours a day also lowers the lifespan of the keyboard.
I change my mouse maybe once every three years, mostly only to upgrade it. I've had the same keyboard for the last six years or so. I run with a high mouse sensitivity and acceleration, meaning I can drag the cursor from one corner of my screen to the other without having to lift and drop my mouse. I'm also relatively gentle with the keyboard, but Logitech has a tendency, in my experience, to build their stuff to last.
Sorry to hear about your brother, Alice.

Remember though that your memories of your brother isn't in a game, it's in your heart.
Technically speaking, memories are stored in the brain, but yeah, this.
