i know this is a very odd question but i know wow is pretty strict on game rules. i like the corsair m90 and k90 best, but would they be considered illegal? my other consideration is the steelseries shift cataclisim keyboard and wow catclisim mouse, which i know those are legal. thank you in advance.

They're kosher, but I'd rather spend the money on a few nice meals. Haven't found anything a basic keyboard/mouse can't handle.

My wife bought me a Cataclysm Steel Series mouse about a year ago. I still only just use the left, right and scroll wheel buttons.

so the catclisim stuff isn't really worth it. reason i like the corsair ones is the aluminum build and back lighting. i tend to go threw 3-4 cheep $20 keyboards and mice a year. so the durability of the aluminum would be nice. and i do a lot gaming at night or with 3d glasses so the back lit lazzer cut keys would be esyier to see. i cant really afforded a mouse and keyboard i want sadly. i thinking ill probably end up getting the X-Elerated Warcraft Guides complete set. they say they are a legal add in and since something like this will help me learn well i wont look like a fool with all my brothers high end characters i took over after he died.

I have a Fang gamepag (it is basically a g13) and a Razer Naga, and I just got done setting them up with Bartender.
It is nice having 24 hot keys, and I've yet to set up shift/ctrl button.

You go through 3-4 of them a year? Do you eat them or encase your hands in concrete? I've had this Belkin for... well there isn't a date but this model stopped being made in 2009 so at least three years. My mice last at least a year or two for the cheap ones, and that's WITH a cat.

If you use a keyboard hard enough to break it that quickly, I'm worried that the only result of buying a more expensive keyboard will be breaking a more expensive keyboard.

Geeze what do you do to your keyboards that would cause you to go through so much? I am using a basic keyboard and have used the same one for about four years and it still works just fine.

Either you are trying to sneak some advertisement or are serious. I am going to assume the latter and tell you this. Don't waste your money. Even if you wipe your **** with Benjamins (or equavlent in your country or choice) all the information you get from guides is free online. It isn't like the information is hard to get either.

Smiley: sly Cut her some slack, you can tell from her posts that her keyboard is broken. The shift key doesn't work and she seems to be missing several letters.

actually 5 keys aren't working at all. i just use them a lot in my encoding hobby. also my current PC was built out 5 dead computers. but yes i am very hard on keyboards and mice, i opened these current ones twice to fix them and extend there life. i am not sure why i am so hard on them that's why i am looking at some good sturdy corsair ones since they are built with aluminum parts. i wasn't trying to do product placing, i am seriously looking into using it. my brother was a hard core wow player that had like 8-10 height level characters. when i took over his account after his death i gained access to them to keep his memory alive. i get yelled at in a lot forums for what they say are moronic questions. this add on is so i can learn how to play the game with less stupid questions. ill never live up to my brother legacy, but i want to enjoy wow. that's why i am doing it.

Everyone grieves in their own way. How you do so is your choice. With that said, I encourage you to think of those who knew your brother and played with him. Are you sure that they'll be comfortable seeing his characters continue on without him? If they are, his friends will probably help you learn your way around. If they aren't, guides and tech won't replace him.

Condolences on losing your brother.
And damn...that's a lot of keyboards & mice.
My recommendation? Roll a few characters of your own, learn the job basics. Then use whatever higher-level chars your brother had.

i just dint want to see my brothers characters deleted someday. im going to create a new character of my own. he only had to linch king and i got catclisim. so i should have a new character slot to use, that's how i plan to learn i may do a post in the official blog with all his charioteers names that they been saved for posterity and in his memory. but it be to hard on me emotionally to play as them.

Your spelling seems to get worse and worse with each passing post. Smiley: tongue

I would pick a server and start leveling characters on it. Learn the game as you go. Blizzard isn't going to just delete your brothers characters because you don't play them. WoW is relatively easy game to learn and get used to. Remember though that your memories of your brother isn't in a game, it's in your heart.

Professional players tend to burn through computer accessories like I burn through beer. A slightly lower mouse sensitivity for precision means you have to lift and drop the mouse more often, which decreases the lifespan by a lot. Mashing those keys non-stop for 12 hours a day also lowers the lifespan of the keyboard.

I change my mouse maybe once every three years, mostly only to upgrade it. I've had the same keyboard for the last six years or so. I run with a high mouse sensitivity and acceleration, meaning I can drag the cursor from one corner of my screen to the other without having to lift and drop my mouse. I'm also relatively gentle with the keyboard, but Logitech has a tendency, in my experience, to build their stuff to last.

Sorry to hear about your brother, Alice.

Technically speaking, memories are stored in the brain, but yeah, this.

You can play WoW with whatever peripherals you feel most comfortable with. There is no 'legal' involved in regards to the mouse and keyboard you use to play the game. If you get involved in pro-tournaments, then they might have rules about what equipment you are allowed to use in the tournaments but for most of us that is not a concern.

I prefer a rather flat keyboard that feels more like a laptop one than a traditional computer keyboard. That is probably because my first few years of playing WoW were on a laptop. I also learned to play WoW while using a Microsoft Intellimouse Trackball since that was a lot easier to use while playing WoW sitting on the couch with the trackball on the arm of the couch. I can't even play WoW with a normal mouse without feeling totally awkward and weird. Trackballs are nice because you don't have to move your wrist or arm at all while playing. It's all done with finger movement.

I would also recommend making some characters of your own to learn on. In the upper right corner of your character selection screen, there is a button to push to choose another server. You can have up to 50 characters on a single WoW account but only 10 (soon to be 11) on any one server. You never lose any characters unless you actually delete them yourself and the realm selection screen tells you which servers you have characters on so you don't have to worry about going to another server and then not being able to remember which one your other characters are on. Playing characters from the beginning will also give you a better idea about the game and why your brother obviously enjoyed spending a lot of time with it.

Guides that cost money aren't worth it. There is so much free information about the game available and sites like this one have a lot of people more than willing to answer questions that you have. Still, all the reading and research in the world can't replace what you will learn from just sitting down and immersing yourself in the game itself.
