So last night I got together some guildmates to do some battlegrounds just for fun. There ended up being 9 of us, so we couldn't queue for a random, and it's Warsong Gulch weekend. Sure, 9 people, Warsong Gulch, seems obvious, yes?

This was my first experience doing premades without cheating Preform, and therefore getting matched up against other premades. Half the first group of Alliance we were up against had Arena Master titles. Some of us didn't even have PVP gear and/or specs. They capped the first 2 flags in 3 minutes, then picked up the last one, trotted over to our graveyard en masse, and camped it for the rest of the game. Eventually we stopped rezzing and just went into the flag room as ghosts and stood around calling shot time in Vent, but they still let the clock run down. Jerks, yes, but I suppose if we were a source of amusement for them, no harm was done, because we were still having a good time hanging out.

Bottom line, I really hope there's some sort of matchmaking system in place for rated battlegrounds. I get all the humiliation and shame I need at the gym. Smiley: lol

Edited typo, because I may not be able to withstand the wrath of a warlock gladiator, but I can spell.

Sweet, I'm looking forward to doing rated Battlegrounds with some random PUG premade.

You need a guild like mine, that requires people to have a minimum of an 1800 arena rating.

Seriously though, I'm probably leaving this guild because there are too many socially inept people in it.

I would not qualify to be that guild's water boy.

It won't be that bad.

You formed a group of PvE-ers who are barely learning to PvP and put them up against a group of i'll prepared PvP-ers. You just witnessed the worst case scenario, it can't get more assymetrical than that.

Most very good pvpers i know are insufferable bastards. This is generally true of people who are good at any niche skill i suppose. I like my guild, people who are on average good enough to clear raid content after a few months, good enough to hit 1800 or smash casuals in BGs and are also chill people to hang out in skype or /g with.

Its rough getting farmed in WSG at the GY. When it starts to happen I go turtle in my flag room and cry like a schoolgirl.

There will presumably be some kind of spirit immunity style buff when cataclysm is released. I can't imagine GY farming being overlooked when BG rating actually matters (as it's currently very easy for a small team of players to tie up enemy players ressing at their gy long enough for a few easy flag caps).

That will solve the problem for you AND your guild. :)
