Yeah, okay. I'll give you the save thing. It's annoying because it discourages taking chances or experimenting with stuff. I had stolen two nice cars, outfitted them at the mechanics and put them in my garage. Then I was messing around with something else, got into an accident and died. It reset me at the end of my last mission and my cars were gone, etc. So I wind up playing more conservatively than I'd like.
And, yeah, the first car theft was a pain. I found out through trial and error that you can walk around the building, go up some stairs, come in from the side balcony and approach the car that way, avoiding the fistfight. When the dudes came out, I just busted the window and jumped in the car and tore on out of there before the gang dudes could get in their cars and mount a decent chase. Still, that was like Attempt #5 after four times of fighting the one guy, shooting the others, stealing the car, getting shot at and chased, crashing, dying, restarting, rinse & repeat.
I think the story is good. Not captivating but well enough to keep me interested. The setting is well done. Voice acting and characters are good (aside from the one creepy looking prostitute). I don't have a complaint about the gun mechanics or fist fighting. I think I just keep wanting to treat it like an Saints Row style open sandbox and it's more of a narrative driven game with a few open elements. It discourages ramming down the street in a truck and going on a massive shooting spree but it's a game about some mafia guy, not an insane lunatic with a shotgun.
I'll do you the favor of saying not to invest too much time into your bankroll since you're going to lose it anyway. Cars in your garage and clothes in your closet remain yours.
