Yeah, okay. I'll give you the save thing. It's annoying because it discourages taking chances or experimenting with stuff. I had stolen two nice cars, outfitted them at the mechanics and put them in my garage. Then I was messing around with something else, got into an accident and died. It reset me at the end of my last mission and my cars were gone, etc. So I wind up playing more conservatively than I'd like.
Amusing story time (well, it was amusing to me). Made as non-spoilery as possible.
I'm outside my pad when I decide for the hell of it to shoot at some passing traffic (I had just hit a save point and was ******** around). So I cause a big commotion and cops come and I shoot a bunch of cops and finally decide I've had enough and just flee and hide rather than restarting. Change my clothes and it's all good. Run off and do a mission, come back and the dead cops are gone but outside my pad is littered with .38 revolvers. Nice clean up, officers.
Go to bed and the next chapter has me fleeing my pad in my underwear (no guns or cash). The street is STILL littered with .38s. So I scoop one up, gather all the ammo, kill a bad guy with a machine gun, grab that, steal a car, drive to a clothing shop and rob it stealing both cash and a suit and arrive at my next location fully dressed, armed and with $100 in my pocket rather than half-naked and helpless as intended. All because I got bored a half hour earlier.
