I guess Shadowfire is somewhere in the middle. The only resource that can reach above 20cpu is herbivore meat. Grinding resources can go for as little as 2.5cpu, usually things are around 5 or 6cpu. When I started as artisan I hated paying so much for resources so I personally tried selling at just above the cost of mining when I got harvestors. It seemed to have worked 'cause now I can buy 900 of decent quality resouces at 3k on the bazaar. Sold 6k of 1000 SR steel for 35k cr. Kind of shot myself in the foot there.
I've seen holos selling for as little as 300k. I've personally sold a twin crstal for 50k and 100k each (not like I need them), the going price for any crystal I've seen is 100k, but most people just aren't sure. People are offering millions for pearls, but they could easily be going for less.
I can get LLC's pre-sliced for 15k, laser carbines pre-sliced for 9k. Composite armor is the real killer, often 50k for a bracer, 80k for pants, boots or helmet, 120k for chest plate.
If you really hate the high prices, take a skill or two line in surveying, buy some harvestors, and start selling at slightly lower prices than competitors, people WILL notice and the price WILL be forced down. Maybe shadowfire just has fewer people and credits haven't been pumped into the system liek on other servers.
BTW, how does SOE plan to take credits out of the game? NPC training is all I can think of and there isn't all that much going on, so people are just gonna keep doing missions and pumping money into the system. Inflation is bound to happen because of this.
