I am fairly new to the world of SWG and I have just noticed that there are 2 different types of holos. What are, if any at all, the differences between using a Sith Holo and a normal Holo?

It makes no difference.
While I don't personally subscribe to the idea, some people are adamantly convinced that using a particular type of holocron will benefit you in some way or another. I don't think a dev has ever stepped in and settled this one definitively, but I might have missed it.

Ok thanks. I didn't think it did but I wasn't sure. I thought that if you used the sith holos that would lead you to become a dark jedi.
The choice to go Dark Jedi is available after a Jedi reaches Padawin (the first 16 skills). As far as I have seen, all beginning Jedi start out as Rebel aligned.
