My first Venture!Follow

I recently downloaded and started my 12 day trial on Eve. I also recently started a search for my favorite MMO. I stumbled upon Eve while scanning Youtube Game Demos, and trailers. Looked amazing, so I dived in. I think... I'm in love. ^^

The reason for my post, is this. Does anyone have any videos on Eve gameplay? I am already fairly certain I will continue my account after my trial period. But would love to go ahead, and see what Eve offers! Endgame, missions, well built custom rigs, and any thing else you think would inspire new players to venture further into the far reaches of our cosmos!

I am currently in the fun process of reading game tutorials, guides, and any other info. I can get my eyes on! All the while I delve deeper in the massive abyss of space. So any tips would be great also. Just please bear with my noobniss! ^^

If you would like it would be great to chat with someone in game!

My name is "Soothsayer Erendil" so say hi sometime. ^^

Take care and thank you in advance to all that offer support to us new space explorers.

I personally can't think of any reason a video would help you with anything in this game, but if someone can think of something more power to them! ;)

If you're looking to further your knowledge about the game, and want to seek out resources beyond the Rookie Help channels and Starter corporations, allow me to recommend the corporation "Eve University". It's a corporation devoted to introducing new players to the finer aspects of the game. It's where I got my start (I've since moved on to their sister-corp) and I'd highly recommend it. It's a no-pressure corp; you don't need to give anything, and you can leave whenever you feel you'd like to move on.

If you're interested, our website is: www.eveuniversity.com

It's a partially locked forum, but there should be some public threads that show info about how and where to apply, and the Uni's prospectus.

You can also freely join the channel "Eve University" (w/o quotes) in-game, and ask whatever you'd like to know without even being in the corporation. There ought to be somebody there to answer. It's a nice way to get more in-depth answers to your questions, and avoid the clutter of the Rookie Help channels.

If you apply, you'll get access to a nice set of resources for learning the ropes. The website has a bunch of videos and lectures that explain how to do a variety of things, and there are plenty of instructors who are available to teach a ton of topics, and are willing to teach to what you'd like to learn. The instructors offer in-game classes, and many different events to teach and practice everything from mining to PVP.

I check this forum just about daily, so I can answer questions here too, if need be. When I'm in game, I can be found in the Eve University channel as well.

My character name is Blacktail. Feel free to look me up if I'm online.

And most importantly, good luck! I'm glad you're taking interest in EVE, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've been nothing but impressed with the game thusfar.

Thanks for the info.! I will surely check up on Eve University. Currently i'm learning about the different directions I can set my focas on. Leaning toward Miner, atm. But not set in my ways yet.

Just looking for screenshots, or videos. So I can see what ships people have created. I'm saving for a new ship now. While I learn about what I can earn. Looking for something that can carry large cargo, stay safe solo, and handle aggression well. Maybe with more the 4 slots. lol ^^

Aye, EVE-U is pretty good for starting pilots, as well as the help channels.

As for gameplay videos... it's sort of difficult to gleam anything from those. Imagine what you're doing, only bigger and more complex. Capital ships for one can be almost completely incomprehensible in operation until you see them for yourself, take part in operations involving them or spend a very large amount of time studying them.

Anyway, depending on what ships you can fly, I'd recommend the Kestrel frigate (Caldari), Rifter (Minmatar), Incursus (Gallente) or Punisher (Amarr).

I was never a fan of any Gallente frigate other than the Tristan. I don't know why, but the Fatman has a special place in my heart. I think because it's just damn fun to fly and has some good damage output for a frigate.

Holy crap Eske, thank you so much for that link. I am definitely hopping on to EVE-U.

At least, as soon as I get my ship back so that I don't look like a complete newb.

I may need to join Eve-U as well. I always feel so lost when I log on. =P

I made a new character and was running missions, bu I had to decline a mission due to not being able to handle it yet. The agent will no longer talk to me so please tell me I can somehow up my reputation with them and run this mission again in the future?

If you ever have problems running a mission, try and enlist help. One of the best ways to find help is to join a player corp. You should never have to decline a mission. In the future just ask me. Helvyn in-game.

The only thing I'd like to add on to what has already been said is to be somewhat careful about whom you trust. There are pirates in this game. I'm just saying if you advertise yourself out there, you might get some unsavory pilots answering you call. Joining a corp, you won't have to worry. Generally, you don't have to worry about playing alongside other players... I'm just saying. Realize they are certainly able to turn on you. Eh, just keep it in mind, I suppose.

This goes for anybody here, but I'm always anxious to help people. If you ever need help with something, I'm Volette in game. I'm deployed right now, which sucks, but when I return, I'll post so up here. Hopefully I'll be able to help you with whatever. :D
