There were a couple there that I was like, "hmmm...maybe", the rest was "oh FFS, no."

A mechwarrior MMO would truly be interesting. Grand Theft Auto? meh. That's mostly a biased opinion, though. I never really was able to get into that game.

Thoughts?

The Mech MMO might be very interesting.

I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Kind of off topic but I'm getting sick of all these start up companies that pump out MMO after MMO. They think if they include goblins, levelling up, weapons, crafting and online play that people will for some reason play.

Actually, the sad part is, most people WILL play those horrible 'free' MMO's, just because they NEED to grind lol.

By the way, wasn't SE working on a MECH MMO for the LONGEST TIME, and it was somehow supposed to be PlayOnline based?

I did enjoy mechwarrior, and think it would make suitable MMO materiel, though personally I would prefer a more humanoid/anime mech design for an MMO. Teh closest I've seen to mechs in an MMORPG are the MAU's in RF Online, a terrible game. GTA would be I'm sure at least a moderately succesful MMO in terms of playerbase I'm sure, as for quality...

This interesting aspect is that a lot of these games can't be converted into RPG format, and MMOs are starting to diversify outside of the typical RPG realm (with games such as planetside). Are future MMORPGs going to lsoe theri majority position in the market of MMOs?

Yeah. Never came out to the US, though. /shrug Heard it wasn't all that bad, I think. Just not really that good either.

The Front Mission games are awesome.

I wish Sega would release Shenmue online over here.

well, first, mech warriors is already online and running.

its called planetside. not doing real well either. a blast to play IMO, but gets old fast like all pvp games.

not a one of those looks to be worth playing. grand theft auto, might however take alot of the punks out of our current games, and that would certainly be a good thing......

ill wait till something BETTER than vanguard comes along before i try something new. vanguard just rocks, and i dont say that about alot of games.

how is planetside like mechwarrior at all? theres only a few mechs in it, and there not even the focus of the game

Check out RFOnline if you crave a mech MMoRPG available in the US.

Its looks nice, but I heard the gameplay is meh.

Oh that brings back memories of the battletech 3025 online beta from yesteryear. It was much fun, and it's truly sad that they killed it when they did.

I would love it if they released Front Mission Online here in the states. I've loved that series as long as I can remember. It's a shame that we didn't get it over here.

oh. lets see. jump in a suit of armor and go pvp other players. sounds like planetside to me. only planetside also gives you tanks, halftracks, fighter jets. bombers. flying aand ground troop transports and more.

mechwarrior is more like one tiny piece of planetside. planetside already goes there and way way beyond, and its up and running right now.

not doing that good either. like all pvp games, they are a blast to play for a very short time because spending more time loading after a death than playing the game gets old, real fast.

gona bomb. just my openion. and thats the best looking one of the bunch. the rest wont even get off the starting block for more than a few months before they close up.

gods and heros looks like the next big game comming out.

I looked at Planetside. It looks fun. But like you said with all PvP games it gets old very quickly. There needs to be enough content that is not involved with combat so that the game can keep moving. If all you're doing is going after someone and there's no NPC's to fight or anything like that it would get stale. Quickly.
