That would make it much more hardcore in my opinion. I got responses saying that this Tolkien guy didn't have those in the books, but he never said he didn't. Would the Witch King even be a challenge with a gun? I mean...you could just pop a cap into him. Robots make anything better, so why not?
I condemn Turbine for making a game without guns/robots. Boo, poor work effort.

I read one time (and I don't know if this is true or not) that there was an elaborate sword/whip fight scene planned out, but Harrison Ford had severe diarrhea that day, so they just had him shoot the guy so he could go crap.
