So, I guess they finally decided to release the "special" edition details, which i'm guessing is the collectors edition that gamestop has been offering for awhile now Smiley: lol

Nothing really new compared to what we knew already... Though it is nice to know what the Glass of Aglarel does. Seems to be a small hope increase, not bad. The making of DvD will be interesting if you like that kind of thing, as will the soundtrack.

It's still crap compared to what the EU people are getting though >_> Which while it is better, does anyone else think that in general it'd be nice if companies (in general) could stand to put better extras in special editions? I mean give me a mouse-pad or poster or something, not just a making of DvD or something else cheap. Even if it cost a little more I personally think that it'd be more worth the money if there was something really special about it. The EU versions are on the right track with the little miniature figurine, but that'll probably stand like maybe 1/2inch if that.

European version also costs $95 once you convert Euros to Dollars. That's one expensive figurine.

Ok, NOW i'm a bit mad. Has anyone else seen the pics of the EU stuff? That box is like one of the best i've ever seen. It even tops the WoW CE boxes imo, and those were pretty nice.

Here
is a discussion thread on the o-forums... besides the normal whining and complaining there is a bit of useful info in there, and some questions answered too. I've only read up to page 5 atm, but there were pics promised of the US SE version...

Edit:

*sigh*

I think that sums it up pretty nicely. I mean it looks decent enough, but compared to the EU?

Edit: It seems they changed the EU version slightly though, no more rings but still have the chance to win the trip.

Also keep in mind that the European CE costs 250 Euros ($337 US). It does include the lifetime subscription, but $337?

So let's keep things in perspective, shall we?

Still, the WoW CEs were close to 100 bucks, and they didn't have the lifetime subscription... I personally would EASILY shell out the money for something similar here in the states if they had it. I've already planned on getting the lifetime subscription, and with extras like that i'd say the extra cost (which comes out to about 60 bucks more then the SE+Lifetime) is justified. I mean, i'm not a hardcore fan (or i'd be importing it from Europe lol) but those extras (and packaging) are very nice.

I agree completely. That EU edition is well worth the extra money.

Yea about the only reason i'm not importing from Europe is the fact I want to be on the US servers. Well that and the importing costs... but the main reason is I can't play on the US servers with that version of the game.

Well, from what I understand, only the 350buck (or whatever the price conversion is) CE has the special box (which is, weirdly enough, what ticks me off the most) although even the SE is more packed then our SE here in the states. Also from what I understand, it isn't Turbine's fault... Midway is handling the distribution of the game while Turbine is handling the game content/servers. So, I guess because Midway didn't think the game would sell enough they decided to skimp on the extras, and since they have gotten the boxes now at Turbine it's a bit late to change it up as they are already being produced likely. Unless someone at Turbine has to give the final approval, but I have a feeling they are already in production. I mean the game is releasing in 10days (from this post) and you figure they have to allow a few days to get them shipped, and at least 5 gamestops are doing midnight releases so they have to get them monday, which means they have to be shipped saturday at the latest.
