If some of you guys are like me, coming up with a name that fits the LOTRO world can be hard. So instead of coming up with a name a 13 year old would use, why not let this nifty little site help you out.

Its called the Barrow Downs Name Generator, and when you type in your full name it gives you elvish, hobbit and dwarven names you can use. I am not sure how accurate they are, but its where I get all of my names from.

Hope it helps

Hmm maybe i missed it somewhere in the thread but we do all know that that is a random name generator right? You could type in ttttt ttttttt and it will give you a name type it again and it will give you a different one too. There is a disclaimer at the bottom that says it is a random generation, I'm sure someone out there noticed it other than me and if not im sorry to ruin the fun. I just quit smoking and i cant stay busy enough...Thats why im reduced to reading disclaimers and doing yardwork ive put off for a year. *sigh*

That's what I first thought, but it's not. And it wouldn't matter even if it was? What woudl it be if not a random name generator.

It does have a specific output for each input. If you put in the same "yyyyyy hhhhh" it will always give you the same output, it is not random. No it doesn't "translate" it, as that's nearly impossible to do.

Thanks for clearing that up i did not actually try to type tttt ttttt over and over i just read the disclaimer. And i really like the name generator and i do plan to use it, I just did not want anyone spreading incorrect information (like i just did). Thanks for the correction i will endevor to be more accurate in the future...and no i will not use the name Minto as im betting it will be taken on all servers before too long anyways. :)
