Advancing - Rebel PilotFollow

#1 Apr 17 2007 at 7:38 PM Rating: Decent
How in gods name do I advance through the Rebel Pilot faction.

I have done everything Commander Da'la Socuna has offered. Now all she says is Duty Missions - which I have done many of times. Am I just completely missing something here?

Ah rebel pilots, my favorite kind!

you done your nugget missions, now there is just experiance between you and advancement, just keep hitting the duty missions or the static spawns in Tat space till she packs you off to yavin and your next trainer.

A new ship, hmmm, well there are 2 schools of thought there, the pureists says go get your self a Y-wing tourture your self throu a who manner of self flagulation that flying the y-wing and its bigger brother the Y-wing longprobe against ties at your level is.

The 2nd school say forget the y-wing come back to them when you can put lvl 8-10 equipment in them and play with them then, cause they can be quite fun, and the Y-wing is a great multi-player ship for a whole manner of fun and games with a friend or nugget in the turret. instead find your self a master shipwrite who will make you a heavy version of the z95. They more expencive than many ships due to the space resourses needed to make them, but its you flying now but with a 90+k mass, more than enough ship to take you all the way to your standard x wing and much easier to fly that either y-wing with lvl 1-7 components in it

Any more problems just ask away!

Hey thanks.

I havent really communicated with anyone in this game yet. Do I just wonder around, looking for master shipwrit?

I really enjoy this game. I am just new to the whole MMO aspect of it.

Hey Emjay, don't knock the Y. I flew my Y until I was about 3322 and loved it. I did all my missions in it without help. Course there was no such thing as heavies then and I didn't bother with the longprobe. I still have my Y in my datapad. I just can't give the ol girl up even though I haven't flown it since I got my X and then heavy X.

As far as finding a shipwright you can search the vendor terminals for a vendor selling ships then go to it and you can get a name to mail from it. Or every time you log in do a search for a shipwright. I haven't played for a while so I can't quite remember which menu the 'searching for' is in but I'm sure someone here can tell you.

Hey i said there was 2 school of though in the matter i even recommended using the y wing later, infact the long probe now makes a viable alternertive to the standard X

we've had this argmuent b4 and like i say i have a soft spot for my y-wing, but not till you can get at least lvl 7 equimpent in it and sorry my view not gonna change using the y-wing with lvl 1-5 parts is akin to beating your self around the head with a stick lol

Before the heavy vairents were released i used the noob fighter till 2222 rather than fly the y wing But all respect for you for using it

Oh and finding a master SW, well as Agrilok said your best bet is finding ship chasiss on the vendor search and mailing the creator, ask any peeps you see wandering around with a master pilot tag if they could reccomend a good SW to you, the search is always an option thats on the comunity tab, but its not 100% reliable as a lot of people dont wear there master tags, or alow them selves to be searchable.

Oh what server you on BTW, that might help us point you in the right direction.

Depending upon 2 factors I might recommend a slight deviation in your method of attaining a ship, which could help you down the line.

Alot of Ace pilots develope a soft spot for newbie pilots.
Why...because we've all been there.
Not to mention that becoming an Ace "Usually" requires the help of a couple seasoned Aces. Unless your doing it on your alt, and have your ships gear maxed out with cash from your main toon (who is already an Ace).

Finding an Ace pilot is a great idea, If their not searchable, just look for someone wearing the ace pilot helmets.(Because as stated before me, alot of peeps, don't tag their title up, or leave themselves searchable)..
Mos Eisley...cantina is usually a great place to look..during prime time.
And don't discount traders or Entertainers..alot of them get their lust for combat sated in space. (If they got the helmet ask)

Here's where I deviate a bit..Having been a shipwright..I know they can be overpriced(not all of us, but some)...and know that your probably desperate to upgrade your gear and ship.
Approach a couple Aces and ask them if they'd be willing to sell you their Y-wing..(Again as stated..most of us develope a bond with our earlier..but poorer ships), but they might be willing to part with it to help a struggling pilot.

Once you do find a good samaritan Ace, you'll probably become friends..and "BAM" you solved several problems.
1) You now have the first Ace helper for your final "Ace" mission.
2) This Ace probable has a line on cheap ship equiptment, or has old stuff he'll just give you.
3) If all else fails he can turn you in the right direction, and mentor you on where to find what missions for what special ships you can use at each new level.

If you find you are not having any luck with the "Hunt for an Ace Mentor"
Ask around your guild...the elders hould know peeps you can turn to..If not...Your in the wrong guild.

Wow - reading this thread shows me how unprepared I am for MMO's. I have yet to talk to anyone inside this game yet and I am up to level 21.

Im in the server Bria I do believe. I can check out the Catina in Mos Eisly. I am still learning alot of the commands - So I apologize when I have no clue how to search people.

I really appreciate the help.

Dear Antwaan,

I don't know how you have your game setup, in terms of controls, and settings but I'll try to help with some simple things.

If your have a friend and need to find them online(providing thier onlin...lol)

Asking their coordinates and finding them on map to make a waypoint can be tedious, and close to mind boggling, so just type:

/findfriend(playername) and hit enter.

I believe this only works if your on the same planet.

To search though the community, go to the community tab(which is activated by the little silver button above your command bar in lower right hand corner)
Click button, scroll to community, and go to search tab up top.
Click on profession and scroll to profession you are looking for.

This also only works for the planet you are currenlty on. (also, some peeps are listed under different professions or their sub categories) like a droid engineer, may be listed under engineering mastery, so check both.

Also, don't sweat not talking to anyone yet. I made my first ingame friend at lvl 26, when I started needing info on my sabre...He and I are now members of the council in our guild so..its better to make a few good friends later..than many bad ones early.

As for the other controls..please feel free to ask any questions U might have...thats what we're all here for. I am still learning daily new things ingame.

Sincerely,

So I found someone to help me.

Showed me how to use the Vendor commands and all that and find the locations of people who sell Y-Wing chassis and etc.

I just havent had time to fiddle around and figure out everything else.

I really enjoy this game - I am a star wars nut so this is up my alley.

Anyone else here on the Bria server?

I was on the Bria server before SOE cut me off without knowing my credit card went defunct, what's your character name? I can probably help you in like a week's time.
