"Reverse engineerin Max?"Follow

I have searched existing threads and haven't found any answers.
I was curious if anyone had a clue as to the "new" (since last patch) maxes that are possible on reverse engineering power mods?

And If there is a formula. I have re'ed power bits as high as 28-29, but no higher.

My tailor is lvl 90, and was wondering if there were special buffs?

I've used luck and tailor buffs, but never found anyone with a re'ing buff. Don't know if they even exist?

Thanks.

the max RE chance skill you can have is 149.. to get that you need the +10 from your expertise tree. +3 RE chance on shirt, chest armor and weapon. Then you need +10 RE chance power ups for shirt, chest armor and weapon (hardest to get, very expensive). This will give you full RE chance. Luck IMHO has nothing to do with REing... though some say diferent. After you get full RE chance you just need to grind each power bit up to +35 (highest you can get now). It takes awhile but to do this you need to just keep creating an attachment with said power bit and attaching it to crafted clothing and then REing it over and over again until it goes up... very boring. good luck.

Dear CantinaJack,

Thanks for the reply.

I currently have 4 reverse engineering mod bits..lol
But I am reluctant to attach them to my cloths at the moment because of the issue you stated. The highest power bit I have been able to create thus far is 29. and the mod bits round down, so I would only get a 2 added to my re'ing per mod bit, and yes they are expensive.
If I could create a 30 power bit then I would have the full plus 3 per attachement you stated.

Other than those attachments, my skill tree is maxed.

I tried re'ing a piece of clothing I made to grind the bit higher, but it seemed to go down in level. Any advice?

if it went down then you need to get your RE skill up... the first thing I did was made a RE suit with just +2's on all three items which gave me +6, then I just got cheapy PUPs like RE +6 or so on all three which gave me +18... this should get you around 130ish RE chance, and that is enough to grind PBs up to 30... then just make 3 30's and make a full RE suit... then try to get those +10 PUPs.

Thanks again for the heads up CantinaJack...It has helped.
I made one bit last night with 30, but the rest were 29..28..and so forth.
I did make one power up that helped, but I made the mistake of using the one 30 power bit I made for powerup, when I know now I should have made an SEA and put it on a piece of clothing(to gain the full +3 allowed by current cap).

I'm a tailor, SO I'm gunna hafta get one of my Munitions buddies to craft the armor, and weapon re'ing power ups for me...but I have enough re'ing mod bits to do it.

Thanks again CantinaJack,

Sincerely,

Ok, hate to keep beating a dead horse or bantha, but I have searched High and Low.
So far CantinaJack has given the best advice I've found, because of how direct he was.
I spent hours upon hours reading on forums, and dev chats, and no-one seems to know an exact combination to get power bits over 30 (after the last fix).
No one seems to know whether luck, experimentation, or assembly really matters.
Every one guesses but no concrete advice.
I have managed to get my re'ing chance over 130 and with the exception of 1 bit I made at 30(which by the way was the first bit I made when my skill was only 117) I have only come up with one 29 power bit and a couple 28's.

AND trust me I have been grinding these bits for hours.
Don't know the exact number but well over 100 reverse engineering attempts.

I just need someone who has had success making bits over 30 to put a simple guide together.

I know that this knowledge is coveted, but it would help those that were truly motivated.

I have tried several combinations, such as a modded item with a 29 and another with 28, and still no improvement(in fact it went down to 28, and yes the 29 was first in tool)

Please.....

Obviously the Devs...aren't gunna help us players in this regard so we need to help each other.

Sincerely,

SouleSurvivor
