Best vocation for an uber-noob.Follow

So what would you say is the best vocation for a noob?

My main character is going to be a Hobbit Hunter. Specifically, I want something that will allow me to make money. Not ridiculously fast, but not as slow as some other games.

If all you care about is making money, you should probably just go Explorer. Prospect and collect wood (and hides as you kill the native fauna), sell either the raw hides/wood/ore in the AH or else prepare them into ingots, treated wood & boiled hides and sell those. And I'm not saying to be one of those dips trying to sell a stack of Barrow Iron Ore for three gold either. Sell it a fair mark above what the vendor offers and you'll be turning a profit.

Easiest way to make money with vocations, anyway. Anything else requires skilling up, looking for rare critical reagents and hoping that there's a market for your wares. Selling raw materials is pretty much an easy go.

I'd go with Explorer(Tailor, Prospector, Forester) for money making. Two gathering professions so you'll have more raw materials to just sell off, and Tailoring gives you alot of sellable items multiple classes can use.
