Hi, I tried to peruse the forums to find an answer to this question, but couldn't find any, so my apologies if it has been addressed.

Before the final quest in the first (Introduction) Epic Quest, they made it quite clear that any quests that were open would be eliminated from my quest queue after completing the chapter. I also noticed that a couple of the quests were no longer available at all after finishing that chapter.

So, during the second chapter I am becoming a Quest monster, trying to finish everything up, but now I have noticed that the epic quest level is blue (which means I am higher than it's level). So, here's what I am wondering...

1) Is what happens after the first series of epic quests the norm, in that all of your current open quests are eliminated?

2) Are certain quests only available during certain chapters. Is there a list of these quests that should at all costs be completed before continuing so that I don't miss out?

Thanks for your time.

The first seried of quests are in a special newbie instance that is gone after you finish them. The Bree-area human newbie instance is more or less the regular game area, except Archet is burned and several NPC's are dead. Elf characters go to a completely different area when they finish their newbie quest, so it's more noticable.

The gist is once you're out in the "real world" you can keep your quests forever.

No. It is just at that one time. You are moving from your 'instanced' newbie zone to the 'real' world after completing the intro.

No, once out of the newbie zone where the whole world is finally open for you to explore, you will be able to keep quests forever. You could go back to one of the starting cities at level 25 and get all the same quests that you would have gotten at level 7. Of course you wouldn't get any exp and the items/money wouldn't be worth it, but you could.

Hope that helps.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys. I guess I will now go on with the Epic quest storyline without thinking that I might be missing out on some very important quest that won't allow me to get "X".

Again, thank you very much for your help.

Incidentally, trying to finish up all the quests becomes an exercise in futility unless you hang around doing grey-con quests for no experience. Having levelled mainly in Northern Downs from 20-29, I have a slew of untouched Lone Lands quests (not to mention The Shire and Erud-whatever-the-elf-place-is) aside from working on the Lone Lands based epic book quest.

Which is fine with me -- new stuff to do and new paths to take next time I level a character.

The same goes for me...

There is one reason to finish "Grey" quests though...for a "Trait".
Alot of zones have a bunus trait for completing "X" amount of quests in that zone. So its not necessarily bad to be level 30 and doing a bunch of grey quests that you missed.

That's what I was wanting to do. Instead of trying to complete all quests with my first character, I thought I would just start up a new character that started somewhere new and followed those quests. I was starting to get overwhelmed with the task of trying to complete everything.

another reason would be for chain quests.

I think it's impossible to do all quests without them to grey out of you ; there are just too many of them.

If you keep doing lower-level quests in all areas you will get XP that will make you level up.

This is however a big plus ; you can decided which quest or chain you would like to do. If you don't like N.Downs then stick to Lonelands and complete every Q you can find there and only do the mains in N.Downs and vice versa.

My personal recommendation is to check a site for rewards for example (rewards at Esteldin on mmodb.com) and check out which quest-rewards you'd prefer.

I have just reached 15 with my dwarf, and notice my Bree-land quests running thinner.. still haven't touched Eren Luin but a few, and have done a couple Shire.. most of the shire ones are grey, couple of greens. Other then title farming, the grey quests are not much use to do. Was getting 39 to 49xp per quest completion.

Quests in Eren Luin still good though, and ofcourse the remandier Bree-lands. Then it's off to greener pastures.

Update: between 25 and 30 you get a massive amount of quests in as well eastern Lone Lands (the so called 'agamaur quests' which are more than 8 fellowship quests overthere between 25 and 30) and North Downs (near Esteldin and the Nort-West) .. Even though I roughly try to finish all quests in my log I had to remove at least 5-8 greys and still I have more than 38 in my log :)

In the early 20's it looks like you'd run out of quests but don't worry ; you won't :)
