A Good Duo?Follow

I'm interested in starting the game with my friend we've already ordered overnight, but thanks to EB not mailing on sat or sun we won't be getting our copies until sometime Tuesday. What I was curious about is, we're pretty much going to be playing together the whole time, it's rare for us to log in separately.

She's pretty dead set on playing a Minstrel, and I'm open to playing Lore-Master, Champion or Hunter. My biggest preference being hunter. I'd assume Lore-Master and Minstrel wouldn't make a very good duo. But what I'm curious about is would Hunter and Minstrel make a viable duo? Or would I need to be a champion so we have some kind of front line fighter?

Keep in mind the question here is viable duo. I'm not looking for the absolute best combination possible. Also, we're both planning on being Elves.

Thanks for the help!

Hunter and Minst should be fine. High DPS and the ability for both to attack from rang. Your friend may have a little harder time when it comes to elite mobs though, as hunters can't wear Heavy Armor to my knowledge.

A champion may be a little better, especially for multiple mobs, but either will work. The nice thing about a champion is the ability to wear heavy armor at 20, only 5 levels past when Guardian's get it. They don't really have any ranged abilities though until 20.

I can speak from experience as playing both a hunter and a champion with a minst in a duo, both went extremely well and downed mobs quickly. Both were at 15, and champion had some at 27ish vs elites.

The nice thing about Minst is they can actually do some damage. Thy do a bit of burst damage, which hunters are also very good at. You'd probably end up downing most mobs before they even got close to you. Champions do a bit more damage on longer fights vs tougher mobs though.

Like I said though, either will work great really.

Thanks a million, that's pretty much what I was able to take away from reading the class info but wanted to be 100% sure before I made a decision. Seems like I'm going to go with hunter. Thanks again~
