Hey peoples.

I've got some questions to ask after last playing the game in what must have been mid 2005.
I played the game since launch up until then...i vaguely remember a change in game play around that time, which may have been the reason i stopped playing.

Anyways, im in the process of starting to play the game again...my launchpad is updating which will take a few hours eeing as its updating everythign since 2005.

My quesitons are...
How different is the game from when i last played it?
Is SWG a dying MMO or is it still in full swing?
Will i be able to pick up my old character...a wookie smuggler?

Im sure ill come up with some more qustions while waiting for the updates.
Thanks in advance for any answers :D

Hi Killicolt, welcome back.
I don't know much about the pre-NGE so I can't really comment; but I quite enjoy the game, largely due to it being Star Wars, and what i have seen of the latest chapter has been really fun.
SWG was fairly under subscribed for quite some time but has been picking up for some time now. However with the house pack up re-call for former players, beast master addition this chapter and, I think, an increased interest in SW because of the anniversary there seems to have been a boom in player numbers (on my server anyway) recently. I would say though that compared to most MMOs it is still small fry.
As for your old character, if you mastered the smuggler prof you will be an Elder now, and i think will be able to pick any class at start up. I wouldn't recommend going smuggler though as not much content has been added to the game for them in any recent chapters.
Anyway best way to find out things is play, so I hope you enjoy the game, try to think of it as a new game not what it used to be and good luck.

I am not a Pre-NGE player however from what I can tell...it is vastly different. Currently, every Profession has their own Expertise Roadmap completed, and now that Chapter 6 has been released there are new things and a few re-vamped content. Creature Handler has be re-introduced as Beast Master with a different way of obtaining a pet. New combat factors. Storyteller in which is to improve player events (alot of fun by the way). The Rebel Themepark has been revamped (not sure how). Now there is a new quest line involving Azure Cabal meant for 85-90. A.I. difficulty has been upgraded which is meant more for high end players, mid-range may have problems with this.

It's more in-between. A few new players are around however not enough to match other popular MMOs. Enough to enjoy it though. Personal belief anyways.

If you did not delete the character before cancelling your account he will still be there.

Welcome back.

Hey welcome back! I'm not PRE-NGE or anything but the game has changed and every 3 min. i see new players in mos eisley and the AI in naboo theed has changed greatly. The lvl 50 stormtroopers have around 80k health, and the 85-99 have over 100k health. As a commando i could fight them easily before, but now its hell! I saw 3 elder jedis, troopers, (troopers can be called when high enough in the GCW rank) and a droidika take out 2 NPCs! talk about tough! well anyway welcome and keep posting if u still have questions
