I know there are posts like these all over this forum and any other, but they always get out of hand with arguing or changing the subject before i find out what i want to know.
Im about to start playing the game. I have to say i am new to online gaming, but i am a huge fan of star wars and im really looking foward to playing. I just dont know what to be.
I want something where credits are easy to come by and i can defend myself well, and be atleast decently skilled in weapons. I dont care about being bothered by making things and what have ya, i just wanna be able to travel freely and be able to fight and complete missions, and sneaking abilities or stealing would be nice.
i was thinking about either bounty hunter or commando, but there was alot of complaints about those professions. smuggler or spy dont sound bad either. if anyone could give me any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

any combact proffesion will give you what you want. they say spy is eaiser to take on mobs, and medics are allways wanted and have nice heals. bh is good but can be a challange if you arn't very good at your job. commandos i heard got nerfed but not sure. choose one you want and if you change your mind switch proffesions but it will cost creds to do so.
I started with the BH...I guess I was good at it....I have yet to fail a hunt. If you want combat proficiency...Commando is your class or maybe even the Jedi but thats more melee combat. I yet to try the spy or medic like the previous post suggested. As long as you keep questing you will get creds...at one point just on questing I ended up at 45 level with 5 mil....that not alot but it can buy some happiness...and it did. I have since rebuilt my stash....but I aslo have a DE as an alt...Droidika sell very well and carry a hefty price on most servers 350k to as high as 1 mil depending on the server and quality, and those who want Mando armor need the DE and will pay very well for you to accompany them in the DWB to make the helmet. So don't stick your nose in the air about crafters as an alt to your combat class..they can support the combat class with money and crafted items.

I love to play jedi, and it's my favorite profession*. However, you may not be interested in melee combat. Also, they are limited in their armor.
Bounty Hunter is a solid choice, if you want basic ranged, and Commando is great for grenades, and heavy weapons.
I would say pick one of those two.
However, since youre starting out, I would choose to play as a human or zabrak, because they are pretty well rounded and, mor eimportantly, they can wear most of the cool armor types.
If you chosoe something like Ithorian, you can hardly wear anything!
