I just got to 35th level (woot!) and the first order of business was to go get my trusty steed. But wait... As if taking the time to level up to 35 and earn (save) 4.2g wasn't enough, now I have to do some silly fed-ex quests and a run around the yard (took me a couple of trys ;)) Really, what's the point of this? I suppose that I got frustrated because I only had a few minutes to log on and do these things, and it just took too long. I know, I am impatient. What can I say...?

Seriously, you are complining about a quest that is just running around, to get probably the single-most desirable character feature in the game? At least you do not need a raid to get one! (I know in EQ you just 'pony' up the plat...)

Gratz though!

I kinda liked the little race against the clock jumping over trees, fences, and avoiding the water.

The first time I wasn't sure it was a circle and thought you might have to turn down a path. Just follow a circular path and run under each banner and you'll be ok.

I like the idea of trying out the three different colors (helped me to see what color I wanted) and as I was taking a pleasure ride on the bay and time ran out. I had to go back and restart the quest delivering the last horse as I doodled along the way.

Np, I am a happy horse riding lore-master. I went back into the lower zones and ran to different points on the map to complete deeds I had not finished. Fast ride no argo and was able to improve my toons power and will regeneration as well as power, will, armor, ect.. pool.

I didnt try this, but can you Ctrl-click on the horse at the purchase screen to see it in the dressing room screen like you can for armor and other 'wearables'?

You don't really need to because all the different "paint jobs" are available for you to look at in both the horse and pony versions.

...and regarding your op, It's a simple quest that only takes a few minutes. Complaining about it is kinda silly... Completing the quest just "proves" that at lvl 35 you have actually been in the world and visited a few interesting places. The timed step at the end was fun since the available time wasn't generous and completing required a bit of problem solving.

I really enjoyed this quest. I like to do things that matter, but don't involve fighting all the time. After I failed the racecourse the first time, because the path gets very hard to follow near the end, I decided to run the course on my own two legs until I could do it with ease. That way, I learned the route through the 12 gates and had no problem completing the course when I tried it again on horseback.

...i think your forgetting the single most important part, XP!! you get over 2k XP for each part...so for "riding around" for a few hours you get almost 10k XP...is that so wrong?

Few hours? Heh, it only took me like maybe 30-40 minutes. Of course, I did use a few "tricks" like mapping to bree and using swift-travel and such... plus the man trait return to bree helps.

I sent an email to Turbine and asked them to do that just for you Dya. And I asked them to make you redo the horse quest just because...
