Swapping Crafting Vocation.

Don’t know if anyone has done this or asked the question before but could do with a bit of advice.

I am currently an Armsman and have got passed Expert level on all 3 parts Prospector, Weaponsmith, and Woodworker. I am now thinking of changing my vocation to Armorer this consists of Prospector, Metalsmith, and Tailor.

My questions are;
1. If I change will I lose all of my experience (i.e. if I decide to go back to Armsman will I just start back up where I left off or will I have to start over again?)
2. Do joint Experiences carry over (i.e. Both Armsman and Armorer utilise the Prospector trait, will my experience carry over if I swap?)

Any help would be appreciated.

I know for certain you would keep your prospector levels.

I'm pretty sure you would lose forever your progress in woodworking and weaponsmithing and would have to start all over if you switched back later. I'm not 100% certain, but it stands to reason that once you give up those abilities you would have to work to get them back.

I've not personally ever swapped my vocation, however the way the "quest" reads for it it isn't a hard assumption to make that you'll never be able to get the skills you lose back w/o re-leveling it, though maybe it flat out says that I can't remember the text totally. You will keep any of the same skills that both share though, like prospecting in your example.

I switched from Woodsman (Forrester, Woodworker, Farmer) to Explorer (Forrester, Prospector, Tailor).

The Forrester skill level was not reset. I still kept my Expert status.

I don't know if anyone has ever switched back. Big reason I switched was the Woodworker/Farmer skills were NOT being used (no reason to go back!)
