Will my laptop be good enough for LotRO? :UpdatedFollow

#1 Jun 28 2007 at 6:18 AM Rating: Decent
Last weekend I ordered a laptop. Dell didnt recieve the order till tuesday, and that was the day they cancelled the model laptop I was getting (1705). It was a good laptop and I was going to spend about $1400-$1500. After talking with dell for 3 hours, everyone knows they have great customer service people who speak ENGLISH, they finally gave me a deal. They hooked me up with a 1720/1721 model with many things that the sales person said was good.

Looks good to me. Too bad they don't offer 7200 RPM drives on the Inspiron. But you should do well with a system like that. You had good timing there!

I don't foresee you having any problems running LOTRO with that computer. That looks like one game-ready laptopSmiley: grin

I second (or is it third or fourth or...?) the other comments.

I have something very similar to this, with a slightly slower processor but a faster HD, and it's fine. At first I had a lot of stalling, but then bumped my RAM to 1.5Gb which fixed that completely.

While I did have to turn the video features to 'very low', I changed the Distance Resolution to Ultra High. It had little impact on performance (some subtle stuttering in motion) but helped me immensely with seeing mobs & terrain.

Yeah it was almost perfect timing, its one of those things that I was pissed at first, but it was well worth it.

Lotro runs on my laptop which is only half as decent as the one you are getting :)
Except i have a 7200RPM hdd, i wouldn't want anything less.

I play with settings on low, and the laptop is redhot after playing for a few hours, for the rest it is ok :)
