I finally bit the bullet and came back after two years. I played for about three days and then just gave up. I just couldn't get back into it. Some things were interesting, but here were my main issues:

- Lag
- There were hardly any players online. The only people I saw were jedi and bountyhunters.
- There was so much spam compared to before. Before it use to be player spam only, but now all I see are credit farmers.(How do they exist so easily?)
- All there seems to be to do is missions, which feel all the same.
- Its so easy to play. There is no complexity to game play.
- Where are all the vendors?
- There's only crap on the market.
- Was the animation always crappy like it is now? I can't remember. The jump is particularly bad.

The only thing I still really liked:

- SPACE.

Oh well, maybe see you all in SWG2 (or should I say 3 since this is definitely not the same game I bought 4 years ago.)

What MMORPG doesnt have them and they're omly outside Mos E SP

Not in the NPC cities. There not hard to find, if you know how to click on tabs. Besides whats so exciting about some vendor anyway?

i got 1.5 gig of ram, broadband plus my computer is a hell of a lot better now and i lag more than i ever did pre cu apart for in corro, where there was 100's of people spamming, could you use your vast technical knowledge to explain that??

So your saying the majority of the population are spies and they just sitting cloaked?? i assume thats a pvp thing, but Way to go theres a the social animal you really need in a massive multiplayer online game there. Populations aren't down there is just hundreds of spies cloaked????

So you saying credit farmers advertising is fine??

Beast master isn't that an element of the old game brought back to be SOE'S grind of the month???

Reverse engineering.....hmmm yeah but how much do the sell the parts for....where do you get the reversed engineered parts, i do beleive someone posted asking earlier, i didn't see you reply with any information, no just bashing people that have something to say you don't like.

Space combat don't you say later on thats been.....how was it you put it..."raped in the ***"??? PVP yeah why ever not if he a low level easier for you to kill right? And i get the hint you look down on RP'rs, what their imagination scare you????

Easy to play isn't that your gripe with the pre cu????
and hate to tell you this but you sound just as bad as the hate mongerers that populate the main boards, maybe you would be happier there or they laughed you off already for blowing holes in your own arguments????? or is it more the fact your as unhappy with the game as the supposed haters and are just trying to fit in??

Vendors, well did you think for a min to explain there is a new vendor search system? No once again happy with the hammer.
And its not just mos E bazzars that are full of crap the whole galaxy is other than the odd random gem someone sold without realising what they had, what you expect for a 20k limit??

Now tell the truth the animation is just the same, the problem with it is they had to speed it all up and take the finer points out of it to make it work. Something you feel was an enhancement to the game. and the jump could someone please tell me what that was for? i'm assuming as you obviously love the game and everything about it you could perhaps explain it to me???

And could you explain what the care bears ruined about space??

I got a fair idea what your talking about but i'm interested to hear your argument for it.

MagicMonkee i'm sorry you couldn't find anything you liked about the game as it stands cause to be honest it has vastly improved since the start of the nge.

It may never be what it once was but at least they are trying now.

*taps EmJay's shoulder* Down boy.

No but seriously, Monkee. Here are my pointers why I think you rushed to conclusion and why I may think you're sorely mistaken.

Quote:
- Lag

I'll admit there are issues with this however, the Developers are aware and doing everything they can to reduce it. Currently, a majority of the problem dealt with the load times of Player Houses. Since so many left when the NGE came about, many did not remove their homes or packed them up. What's going on now is the Housing Demolition program. Since, then Lag is being reduced, not enough for a huge difference but it is helping. Operating Systems do play a part and now a days, you can buy a 2 gig RAM computer at only USD900.

Quote:
- There were hardly any players online. The only people I saw were jedi and bounty hunters.

Well, who doesn't want to be a Skywalker or a Fett? Roleplaying is a major source that comes to mind when people chose their profession. This is an Iconic choice. Hardly any players? I'll admit some servers are severely underpopulated, however the players that are still active on any given can be the most helpful community you've been in. Take it from experience in which I came from FFXI to SWG and the level maturity is relatively higher here then there.

Quote:
- There was so much spam compared to before. Before it use to be player spam only, but now all I see are credit farmers.(How do they exist so easily?)

Welcome to the reality of Online Gaming. No MMO is safe from the companies the distribute in-game currency for live money. In SWG, they're more noticable because of the freedom people have with this game. They 'exist' so easily because they know how to manipulate the system. Exploiting and 3rd-party hacking tools greatly increase their annoyance.

Quote:
- All there seems to be to do is missions, which feel all the same.

Of course it's the same. I'll admit the content is bland. They feel the same because people feel that there is nothing in between. Have you ever taken a break from the current mission/quest line you were doing just to try out what else the game offers besides combat? How about mastering different Trader professions or just socializing more often as an Entertainer? I highly doubt you did since you're quit so shortly.

Quote:
- Its so easy to play. There is no complexity to game play.

Welcome the Target Audience gameplay. The NGE was forced upon to compete with the standard method of playing that most other MMOs use. I highly doubt you will see the slim margin of difference when comparing SWG to WoW since you'll be too busy "pwn1ng nubz" as your Paladin and announcing it to your guild.

Quote:
- Where are all the vendors?

In created homes of Traders and other players. I am just going to flat out and say you are an moron if you did not notice the hundreds of Vendors in the game. Apparently you didn't use the 'Vendor' tab on the Bazaar Terminal and selected "Entire Galaxy/This Planet" bullets on the left side of the market screen. Nor did you use 'v' while running around aimlessly and select 'Vendor' tab on your opened planetary map to see the multiple shops. Finally, you could have used "m" to open up your regular map and notice that in those building shapes you could see right in front of you "Vendor-<Name>". Again, clueless.

Quote:
- There's only crap on the market.

Please see the remark above.

Quote:
- Was the animation always crappy like it is now? I can't remember. The jump is particularly bad.

Apparently, no it wasn't. The 'animation' you're seeing is the stiff movements of the NPC or particle effects moving at an accelerrated rate. What you're seeing is compared to a gerbal on high octane in it's little wheel. Again, EmJay clarified it. The animations are there, they're just moving too fast to enjoy it.

Quote:
-SPACE.

Wow, I'm actually shocked that you only like the thing I adore the most in this game. Almost feel like going 'emo' on with this. Well, then again, I can't. Why? Because you did not decide to take the time to enjoy everything of space. Let me guess you sat there thinking "Gawd!space iz t3h 4 suxx0rz" because you believe all you do is get to Master, do only space missions from the boring destroy/escort/or stealing. Apparently, your ship loadout probably consisted of "Mark" components and you couldn't get enough BALLS of patience to try and max out RE components into your ship.

SWG2? SWG3? So? When that happens, it happens. Let me guess, you heard the rumors of BioWare and LucasArts in coherence making another Star Wars MMO based on KOTOR. Sure, let them. I'll probably be there just to see, however if it is true it's a KOTORMMO, I'll be more then happy to stay with the original SWG because now everyone is happy that everyone's a Jedi while I'll stick it out as my Entertainer or Medic.

Thank you and good night.

I realise these people cannot be stopped, but they can be contained.

how about a CSR checking in to mos E once in a while and booting them??? instead of letting three of them stand there for 12 hours a day, before the re roll.

Is that not something that can be done. No that would require someone working wouldn't it what am i thinking sorry!!!

What they should be doing is deleting offending toons and make them restart from scratch...2 or 3 times of that and they will stop, that beyond the booting. If they were really serious about getting rid of spammers...they can write a script that can run on the server attached to a specific location if they stay in one spot for too long....they get booted....then if they continually show up at the same spot....toon deletion. Now some will complain that they won;t be able to find a group to game with using this method....but if you are looking for a group....how long do you hang at the starport before you run off and find fun?....2 or 3 hrs....I think thats a little extreme...but it's about right. But again this would be attached to a specific point...leaving cantina's and other place where Ent. can earn a living...then there can alway have someone peeking in the Dev cantinas, leaving the player cantinas alone. That will also push everyone to the cantinas....where they should be....Ent. make money....bounty hunters are contacted, Groups are formed and Medics can be found, and you can hire some thugs to usher you through a quest.....I think the word is called community. I think the Vets have talked about at one point in time or another. Oh yea!.....if your toon get deleted accidently....there is the undelete command as well....if you don't contact them....which most spammers won't...they are gone for good. They could even lock the account. I'm draconiean in my methods sometimes...but it will work.

So what's the deal? Why are there all these credit farmers spamming when I never saw any for the first two years I was playing?

LOL! I suddenly feel a sense of role reversal. Did you not read my original post? I did play for two years, hence I know there is far more to the game than combat. My original character was a Master Tailor which I played almost my whole SWG career. Mastering different Trader Professions? I'll give it a miss, since my character had already mastered 17 professions. I prefered to focus on one.

Nice that you assume I'm a WoW player, which I'm not. But all my old diehard SWG buddies who now play WoW say you can't compare the games.

Say I'm a moron if you wish, but it just shows you how ignorant you are to the game's glorious past. Yes I am aware of the vendor search option on the bazaar. Pre NGE, 60% of my gameplay was searching the vendors for rare loot to resell at a profit. When I first rejoined, I searched the terminals to see how much all my old loot was worth at current prices. The only problem was that there was no rare loot to be found. Next time you wanna give me a lesson on gameplay, first check that the info you're giving me is post NGE.

I'm guessing 1) English is not your first language or 2) You're just stupid. What don't you understand about the words:

The only thing I still really liked : SPACE

Once again for the mentally retarded:

The only thing I still really liked : SPACE

The reason I said the above words is because... ummm... I still really like space!

Its amusing how you tell me that the current SWG crowd are much more mature than the Final Fantasy crowd. Take my advice, if you really want people to believe that... don't post on these forums. Oh... goodnight to you too.

Um...a few pointers.

1) I never intended that post my remarks as an argument just examples. There is a fine line between just stating opinions and harrassing your claims of the game.

2) My maturity level may come off as a 13 y/o who's going through hormonal changes, however all in all it's just for fun.

3) I am NOT a Pre-CU/NGE player. I came around from I found out, a month after the NGE was implemented. Meaning I've seen the beginning stages of change (I remember the announcement on Launchpad about Jedi/Bounty Hunter Expertise.) So, honestly, I am not defending the glorious days of the past since I have not experienced it.

4) In regards to No. 3 (see above). I feel that the only one in denial with how the game's glory was and compared to now is you. 72 hours of game time is really not efficient enough to understand on how the game is working and how it's heading.

5) Spammers? Hmmm...you know this subject I was always stuck on and could only come up on a few conclusions. Mostly, I've noticed that alot of companies are severely being dimished into the more popular MMOs. WoW: Lawsuits more over, FFXI: During my 3 years there I've noticed that SE kept making drastic changes to counter RMTs, and everything else I really don't know. Before when they weren't announcing in Mos Eisley, all in all, blame the NGE.

6) I never assumed you were an WoW player. Just a drastic retort.

7) Space is always the final frontier. I mean even I am tired of the content on ground with my Medic. I can't even finish the Legacy questline because of all the bugs and the change in AI. So, I resolve my 'CL problems' by heading into my X-Wing and seek out anything I can blast at. Sure really slow, but rapid experience with my set up, some nice credits and parts too at the same time

Again, just stating my opinions about your peeves.

When you call someone a "Moron" for giving game feedback, then you have just crossed that line.

Dude, honestly... Is English your first language?!! I never accused you of being in denial about the game's glory days? Why would I when you weren't even playing then?!! You imply that by only playing the game fore 72 hours that I know very little ablout the game. But umm... you seem to forget that I played the game for two years before that.

*I wasn't asking for me, read what i said, i was pointing out that these boards are here to assist players, but you just choose to shout at people thats dont agree with you. but thats not what interests you right? so WTF you doing here?*

PVP yeah why ever not if he a low level easier for you to kill right?

If insulting my syntax is the best you can do well you lost the disccusion already aint ya, just about anyone that posts on any board anywhere for any thing knows when you get to that level you grasping at straws but hey it prob made you feel clever for 5 mins or so be it, just remember your mother probably loves you*

And i get the hint you look down on RP'rs, what their imagination scare you????

Vendors, well did you think for a min to explain

I was pointing out the system has changed since the OP played, but you never one thought to say that just jump on your self opinionated target audience 'tude which is why players for the most part dont stay anymore, but then again for someone like your self thats to hard to understand isn't it*

you could perhaps explain it to me???

*Oh i have issues with things that have been done to the space game i was just interested to hear what yours were, pity you dont actually have many thoughts of your own really ain't it which is why you have only addressed half of the post and ignored the parts that dont fit in to your understanding*

I got a fair idea what your talking about but i'm interested to hear your argument for it.

* and there we go finally abit of honesty from your true intent reveiled thats why you have no actually discusion of your views of the game, cause you dont know what they are, so you just insult the posters cause it makes you feel better after all the bigger boys picked on you at school dont it, poor lil boy no body love you deeee dummms*

MagicMonkee i'm sorry you couldn't find anything you liked about the game as it stands cause to be honest it has vastly improved since the start of the nge.

-Oh! what a gentle being you so are with such eloquent speech.

* yeah well i would actually like to see more players come along and raise the populations up again, maybe even get some sort of community thats not full of self serving pr*cks such as your self, Where are your more than happy to tell them all to f*ck off, but hey thats just me*

It may never be what it once was but at least they are trying now.
