This seems like a great way to drive you customers away!

Dear Turbine, can I have my 15 silver back please?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Turbine,

I was going about my business in Bree and decided that I really should get on with myself and travel over to the Foresaken inn to visit some long lost friends.

I suppose I could run there, but why run when there is a stablemaster right there at the gate willing to rent me one of his horses for only 15 silver to transport me and my backpacks all the way out to the Foresaken Inn.

So I paid your representative the 15 silver for the ride, but we only got so far as The Yellow tree when my horse (of questionable quality) ran into a partial rock wall and got stuck there. Obviously I couldn't steer him since he is a rental horse and has a predetermined path.

I called for a GM in hopes that he/she would be able to just port me the rest of the way over to the foresaken inn, and after waiting around for about 30 minutes I finally get Lindsay on the line, who in essence tells me to file a bug report and post to the forums, but that s/he can not port me anywhere. The real rub of this GM though was the roundabout way of not answering anything that I poised to him/her, it's like asking a question and getting back some oddball response that doesn't even attempt to answer my question.

Anyhow, in that 30 minutes of waiting (which I suspect was made so long in hopes that I would just disco and give up), 2 other rental horses got stuck on the same piece of partial wall next to the Yellow tree.

I've filed a bug report, but I'd really like my 15 silver back. I mean it's not like 15silver just sprouts out of the ground in the game. And I didn't get to be the wealthy misor that I am by throwing away my silver on horsie rides that don't actually arrive at my final destination.

So, dearest Turbine, when you have a moment please have one of your representatives fix the bug, and send me my 15s for a flawed horsie ride. I can only think how tragic this could have been if I had taken a horse ride out to Rivendell and gotten stuck on something and had to dismount in an area where the mobs would kill me in one blow. Fortunately this didn't happen (this time).

It's disobedient horses like this that need to go to the glue factory! Please send him there, Im sure they will give you at least 15s for the animal and then you can forward it on to me.

Thanks and I look forward to getting back my 15 silver sometime in the near future.

Jalida.

Huh? Why would you expect a community relations forum jockey to be able to give money to a member? Or to have the tools to check out her story?

The forums typically aren't a place to get your specific in-game issues resolved. It's the same in any MMORPG I've played.

The ingame help in the main menu is where you should have posted this in the first place. Ive found GMs in game to be very fair and reasonable.

Besides, if you are having trouble ingame wouldnt you look for help ingame?

Well, some folks have expressed issues getting help in game so they might be trying an alternate approach.

I don't blame them trying an alternate approach. I do question them coming to other forums to complain about the CS they received when they took an "alternate approach" rather than the proper method.

Welp, maybe he should have gone to the Turbine site. However, I do have to say that his choosing to post here about the issue means he feels more comfortable talking to most of us about it.

Let me fix that....

I had my first reason to log a complaint acouple o' nites ago..

Gold seller message in my in-game mail. Logged a ticket..30 minutes later got a reply saying 'the issue has been dealt to', or sumtin like that. Good work I say!

On the other hand,I'm a dorf, and we tend to try and walk rather than ride horses.

Were you hopelessly stuck? I mean, you could not dismount or move or even log out? I have been stuck (next to a wall in Bree) before, but I could always log out. Upon re-logging I was de-bugged. There is also the /stuck command.

No offence, but if you 'ponied up' 15sp for what is essentially a 5 minute run, you cannot be hurting for the silver. (Yeah I get the principle thing, but it is a game and it is not real money)

Log out (or dismount), come back and /bug it and move on...(and don't use the bugged ride until they fix it!)

If it was me I would have probably run back to Bree to try it again, just to see if it was a fluke hehe...

My only real issue is the assumption that I should read the initial complaint, followed a response by a Turbine forum monkey saying that s/he can't fix the in-game problem, and take from that that Turbine's CS sucks and is driving off customers. I think that Ramen's response was very reasonable. There's no reason to assume that any of the Community Relations staff has any ability to fix anything in game. They're not developers or GMs, they're public relations folk.
