Well i'm probably a little biased, but LotRO is basically the funnest MMO out there right now imo. Everything looks just stunning, although some will say there isn't as much variety as in say wow, everything is done with the utmost detail. Right down to the ground and grass (which blows every so gently in a breeze)

The classes could still use a little tweaking, but that is a constant thing through all MMOs really.

The big thing that wins over lotro for me is the story though. It isn't just following the fellowship, but really delving into the world tolkein created. Plus, there is an actual central story (like ffxi) unlike in WoW which has a story but you have to dig around for it.

I played Everquest for 5 years, and honestly I had alot of fun because it was a unique experience...but it was SO boring. If you weren't a 'L33t' gamer noone cared about you, and sadly those were the majority of guilds that got things done.

I played WoW for 2 hours.

Then came along the LOTR Beta, I was still playing 2 EQ accounts but I thought eh, its a free demo why not? Right away the eye-candy took me over...but I get over that in 2 hours (Notice I only played WoW 2 hours).

I'm not a LOTR Lore-*****, but damn are the storylines in-depth. I've played console rpg's my whole life and the graphics didnt cater to me, but the story line did. Most MMO's dont even have a storyline beyond this race hates that one and heres some pretty text to read over. This game is more like a book that I enjoy reading over and over, I know whats going to happen but I like it.

As Tomec stated, as far as gameplay goes it still could use a few adjustments, but for not even bieng a year old I'd say Turbine did ******* nifty *** job. Smiley: grin

"I want to be a unicorn!"
"Awww, why's that?"........
"So I can stab people with my face."

Hi guys, I recently installed last week and the Lore Master class appealed to me, and I'm proud to say I'm now level 10. Smiley: grin Just can't wait to get to level 14 so I can have my big bad grizzly bear with me.

I just can't wait to get off work so I can play some more. This game has a really high fun factor, and there is so much that you can work on to progress your character! Like today I'm thinking, should I quest some more, craft perhaps, work on those deeds? Start figuring out my monster character?

I ran into Bree last night and was overwhelmed on the size of the place. I mean wow, Turbine did a very nice job with the detail in the graphics, it's just beautiful. Where is the Auction house in Bree, btw? Is there any npcs that give directions?

I really like the title system as well. I was trying so hard to get as high as I can without dying, but I was only able to get to level seven. Smiley: motz(damn Blackolds!) I guess Aleecia the wary will have to do for now.

I do wish there was some more classes to choose from for more variety, but I haven't had a chance to do a fellowship yet, so no experience yet in that regard.

I already got one whisper from someone trying to sell gold, is it possible to report them perhaps if this happens again in the future?

Anyways the game look's great!

I really enjoy the story-line as well. Trying to get some form of "Deepness" and "Immersion" is hard to do with a MMO today, LOTRO succeeded.

When this happens, yes, by all means, report the slime. You can submit a ticket to the GMs and they hammer down pretty harshly on these cockroaches.
