Welcome to the light side, WoW is the dark side Smiley: lol

You'll see a lot of former Sith over here turned to the side of good, such as everyone's favorite, whip wielding admin, DF! Imios posted awhile back that he was thinking of trying the game also, but i'm not sure if he ever got the buddy key he was asking for or if he bought the game or what.

can you tell I have star wars on the brain for some reason? Smiley: lol

Yeah, I used to play WoW as well. Glad I came to a game not riddled with gold selling spam, griefers and gank fests.

Am I like the only person that has never actually subscribed to WoW? I tried the demo, after making toon and getting past the "movie" if you can call it that, I had to clear 3 dual requests before I could move. After 30 min the graphics made me want to kill the Loony Toons, deleted that POS off my HDD and have never wanted to see it again...

Oh and welcome to LOTR:O Smiley: grin

No you arent alone. I did the demo as well and found it shallow and pedantic.

Also the /ooc Allakhazam jokes got old 3 minutes in.

RE: shallow and pedantic

I guess they over-emphasize minutia in a shallow sort of way?

I think he means the tutorial goes into great detail about simple things yet does not contain much substance for playing the game. I suppose for the WoW audience that would be required, give em credit, they know to whom they are tut-ing...

Grammar **** is shaking his head over the conjuntion though...but then again he has not seen 'the movie' so it may be appropo...

I played WoW with a group of RL friends for 2 1/2 years. I enjoyed it - just got tired of it. Plus I'm a big LOTR fan. Smiley: smile

Played WoW for about a year, shifting between EQ II and WoW actually for about 2 years.

Not going back to WoW though, haven't even tried the expansion. Might try EQ II again with the next expansion.

But LotrO is great so far.

Never played WoW. Also, I believe the "shallow and pedantic" comment was in reference to:

On the FAQ thread is listed to try this: http://download.turbine.com/lotro/LOTRO_Buddy_Download.exe

You will need to locate a buddy key however.

I'm from WoW, still have my account active and play it still. LOTRO is a lot of fun and I'm quite impressed!

Ex-FFXI'er here as well. Smiley: wink

Glad to be aboard!
