LaunchPad.exe has encountered a problem....Follow

Hey hey. Hello. I'm new to SWG. I have begun to play this game at the request of my nephew who is 13 and lives some few hundred miles away so that we can share experiences and spend some fun time together. I am about almost a week into my 14 day trial.


After installing and updating i played to level 4 in my first sitting. The next day i when i tried to play LaunchPad.exe crashed every time i tried.

I searched all corners of the net to find the problem mention here and there but no resolve. And i think i understand why. But lets get to that in a moment.

That night i ended up uninstalling and reinstalling SWG. It worked. I played my character picking up right where i left off the night before but ofcourse i have to go through and redo my entire config. Being veteran gamer, it's always about teh config.

Then the next day i sit down for another session of SWG and Launchpad.exe encountered another problem and wouldnt let me play. I search teh Net again and like the previous night. I see people saying they have the problem but there is no resolve and little if any responses.

This is because after going through and trying everything short of scanning for viruses and/or reinstalling your OS you decide to scan for viruses. *Sigh*

So then you realize you do in fact have viruses. Then you spend 2 days cleaning and scanning and suddenly its working again you are beat and worn over it that no one returns to those posts to tell everyone... Hey I fixed teh problem. It WAS viruses corrupting my LaunchPad.exe which made it crash.

I know you don't want to hear it, I know you don't want to do it. But if you have this problem. Get the viruses of teh Computer.

Now.. If someone might be able to help me with another problem, it would be much appreciated and in your debt.
