Hmmm... sounds like you may have some corrupted game files there somewhere. I hate to say it, but you may need to re-install the game. Make sure everything is updated also.

Hmmm... what OS are you using on your PC? It could be something OS related, although it is doubtful but I do know some OSes go wonky. If you're using Vista it could be something to do with permissions being set or something.

You can also true going to the official forum tech support section also. This sounds like something that they would be able to help with more then anyone probably.

This is direct from the LOTRO forums bud. It sounds as if you have Vista and are getting booted due to a permissions error.

Clicky to source

To use the game under Windows Vista, it must be installed to a folder with Admin rights. Do as follows...

1. Browse your Computer and go to C:\Program Files\Turbine
2. Right click on The Lord of The Rings Online folder and select Properties.
3. Click on the security tab, you will see a list of "Group or User names"
4. Click on the Edit button
5. Click on add and enter your PC user name (if you do not know this, you can check it from control panel - users) and click OK
6. Now select the user you have just added from the list and click on "Allow" opposite Full Control. Then click OK
7. Choose to allow the action if Vista prompts you.

Now try running the game again.

This should prevent you receiving the same error message.

I am getting this error as well, but I am running on Windows 64x.

I also had errors when I was installing, so I will go back and reinstall, but short of that, I do not have a "security" tab when I right-click on that folder. I am logged on as Admin though, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Hope reinstalling works...?
