I seem to have wandered here WoW... hope to have fun in game ;) So anything interesting I should find helpful during my travels in middle-earth?
Stop and smell the roses. No, really. I know it sounds weird but as detailed as WoW can be in some cases, LotRO is just stunning in places.
Also, it helps to make sure you know the lingo specific to the game like Kinships rather then guilds, Fellowships vs parties, Morale vs Health/HP, Power vs Mana.
Also, Minstrels are the main healing class and Guardians are main tanks. That doesn't mean some other classes can't do an ok job at that, but they are the best at it.
Edit: Oh and there is an allakhazam kinship on Meneldor. Also, no LotRO reader sadly so if you see something you want to submit to the site you have to write an email lol.

You'll find that, unlike WoW and other MMOs, the game is a lot less gear dependent and more an overall character picture than what you might be used to. Gear will take you so far then traits, skills and character stats will balance that out.
As far as gear goes, you will swap it out alot in the beginnign and middle levels, upt to a couple times a level depending on the item. I swapped out armor pretty regularly til I hit about 43 or so then it started slowing down some.
PvP is a whole different ballgame here. It's unbalanced I hear, although I don't engage in it much and it's player vs monster player, where after lvl 10 you cna opt to create an orc, spider or warg.

Wait til you get some of the clownshoes for higher lvl quests. lol. Can be some really creative group issues there...
