The LOTRO game servers will be brought down for a hotfix on Wednesday, August 22 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM EDT (-4GMT). The hotfix will correct a problem causing server crashes, as well as the issue with bonus items being incorrectly assigned. Thanks for your patience!
I'm guessing they will be taking back all of the bonus items they gave us on accident =)

Dang, I was kinda liking my cloak, it looked better than the other free one I got for pre-ordering.
Servers are back up and it looks like we get to keep the items =)

This will no doubt tweak all the jag-offs on the O-boards who were whining yesterday about the goodies folks got that they weren't entitled to. One guy even said he would quit because people got the same freebie he got for buying the deluxe edition.
(yeah, makes sense to me to quit over a junk item that no one uses past lvl 10!)

I saw that guy when I was perusing earlier, he seemed a little emotional about the whole thing. I suppose I can understand his point of view but I fail to see the worth of that in game item. Now if they sent all of us cheapo's the rest of the stuff that came with the deluxe then I could see him getting really spun up.
Never understand getting that wound up over an item personally. But I guess different strokes for different folks.
I think it comes down to "I got that widget and hardly anyone else did and that makes me special". Give that item to everyone and he loses that "special" feeling.
Is it logical? No. But then neither is threatening to quit the game because the company accidentally gave people some extra ones and zeros!

Nope, not just you. I don't get it either. I play cause I like to play and I like to see what I can come up with. But if I don't get the "phat lewts" I just chalk it up to game dynamics.
Wait you dont play for phat lootz and then when your not raiding complain on the official boards about how they devs are doing nothing for you? Whats the point in playing then =)

Actually, I just like to steep myself in the virtual world to get away from RL for awhile, loot will come when it comes, stressing it detracts from my enjoyment as a rule. And, since I work for Zam and help add items, that tends to keep me pretty busy in game with screenshots and whatnot. :)
