OK, first and foremost, I would like to thank Joph for giving me the trial key. I'm in love with the game and I wanted to make it public that the trial run won me over and I wanted to publicly thank Joph for helping me out with that.

As soon as I can clear the price with the monthly fee comfortably (average college student, broke, can't work on campus (due to a grant status) and I have to wait things out) but I fell in love with all the early content, mostly played an Elven hunter, I was gonna get a feel for dwarven guardians, human loremasters, and hobbit minstrels but so little time.

So mostly this is public praise for LOTRO as a game with great continuity, loaded options, easy learning curve, and a fantastic player community. Above all, public praise for Jophiel for hooking me up.

Welcome to LOTRO. When you start up regular, feel free to look up the Allakhazam guild over on Meneldor.

Primarily I'm on Brandywine, but I could give it a shot on Meneldor.

Well, now I feel guilty for not playing.

I actually have three months of free time from trial key converts so I need to patch 'n play. I haven't been on since before Book 10 so I don't know what's been going down in Meneldor Town.

Well now they started a REPUTATION system for certain areas (Shire, Esteldin, Gath Forthnir, Tinnudir, Annuminas, and perhaps other places?). They basically added about 30 more collection quests because of these (Bone Amulets, Mathoms, Wicked Daggers etc). However, it took me a while to figure out that you don't need to get these quests for the item to drop -- so collect them first then turn them in so it does not take a quest slot.

The problem is that tier 1 2 and 3 items drop and you can't turn in tier 2 items till you finish tier 1 etc. Hence you end up with like 200 Wicked Daggers before even getting Bone Amulets if you don't hunt in the right areas (now I know). They are offering an UPGRADED horse (takes more hits to knock you off) in 2 of the places (Tinnudir and Gath Forthnir) but it costs like 5g more and you need like a bazillion reputation as well.

Oh yeah some areas offer better items then others, depending on class. Rangers will want to get nice faction in Esteldin for the bows/armor they sell there when you reach Friendly rep status, etc.
