I agree with the other poster, I have had a premium account with alla for about 6 years I think now, maybe more can't remember when I started my account. I had so many of the pages linked to favorites and would visit it pretty much on a daily basis in line with my playing EQ1. But I have now moved to Vanguard and there now is no reason to visit the site. I have to go to 5 different other sites and try and find the information. I no longer have a premium account as I no longer play EQ1.
I and many others on Vanguard wish alla would support the game as alla has always been known as the best resource for other games they support. The layout, design, link capabilities and responses from players has always been huge. Currently there are no other sites out there I have found that even come close to that sort for information on vanguard or that organization Alla has. Currently we have one site to search a database but information is sparse and not very linked together, there’s a forum mainly used for crafting so it means searching threw posts to find information (although a wiki is being designed), then there’s another site and wiki for diplo that is heavily used.
I personally believe if alla was to reconsider they could maybe get a large population of vanguard to actively use their site and contrary to gossip vanguard is actually gaining many new members each day, the amount of nooby questions in general is an obvious example of this. The game is new and yes ok the 8 year olds with a limited attention span may have lost interest but there are still many more staying and joining each day. Also the game no runs so much smoother, I used to run at about 15FPS up to about a max of 25FPS now if I hit 20FPS I’m going slow and in middle of mass pvp or a crowded city, average for me now is about 35FPS and I never upgraded even memory on my PC when I switched games so I am running pretty slow compared to most, my pc hasn't been updated for 3 years, only have a Athlon 64bit 3000+ only running at 1.8ghz, 1gig ram, and a little geforce 6600 256 card. They have added a large amount of content, quests and more, many bugs have been fixed, balancing of characters is still coming along but on a pvp I know people will always moan that they are not fully balanced, its part of pvp.
Saying all of that I played EQ1 for over 7 years and I could say much the same issues occurred even 7 years on, still certain areas were lagging, had to upgrade my pc eventually when expansions and upgrades became too much, pvp balancing was always out, there were enough bugs, patches to fix their patches and all the rest of that fun stuff, people just need to be patient and if they don't have patience then maybe a game that involves hours of questing, leveling and gaming is not the best for them, maybe a nice 30 min game of red alert 2 would be better suited.
Anyway that’s just my 2cents from a 7 year EQ1 4 boxer gamer who moved to Vanguard in March (PvP servers all the way threw on both games)
