Just picked up another X-Box 360 last week. I picked up four games so far.

Dead Rising
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Ace Combat 6
F.e.a.r.

I love all of them so far. When I had my first 360 I played the **** out of Oblivion and Dead Rising. But now since I have been so far out of the loop and I'm too lazy to go and look myself, you will now tell me what other must have games there are for the 360.

I know Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and Bioshock I will most likely pick up. Has anyone played the game Two Worlds? It looks like an Oblivion rip off. How is it?

How is Blue Dragon? Is the story too kiddy? The anime style of the characters I really don't like very much but if the story is good I would probably pick it up.

Halo 3 I'm sure is fantastic, but short.

Is Mass Effect worth checking out? I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. Same with Kane & Lynch.

I'm not a huge fan of Half-Life, so I probably will not pick up the Orange Box. Call of Juarez really interested me but I've heard nothing about it so I'm really on the fence about it.

Anything else really worth getting?

Well, Mass Effect is mandatory for anyone who enjoys RPGs/Action games. I can't really say much about other Xbox games, since I haven't really bothered researching that console all that much. If it is fully backwards compatible though, I would recommend Ninja Gaiden if you haven't already played it. It may be ye olde, but it is just awesome. Also, it is the single hardest game I have ever played.

My roommate said Mass Effect is the best game of the year, better than Bioshock (slightly).

If you have ever played the Dragon Quest series then expect pretty much the same in Blue Dragon.

It is a very traditional RPG, which is to politely say it is a very boring RPG. The story is bland as well. It has been receiving quite a few high reviews in the Japan region (much less so in the west), but they also praise it for having a generic storyline and traditional combat, so make of those what you will.

I'm more into RPGs than most and I wouldn't touch the game.

Mass Effect and Kane & Lynch have been receiving some high reviews. I haven't had the opportunity to learn much about them, but apparently Kane & Lynch is from the producers of Hitman, which I much enjoyed.

I'm going to be out shopping for the BFs burfday today, and plan on picking myself up a game or two. Mass Effect is at the top of my list right now, I've heard nothing but good reviews.

Ok so a big negative to Blue Dargon since I loathe the Dragon Warrior series. A thumbs up to Kane & Lynch and Mass Effect. Ok that gives me some ideas as to what to pick up next.

I have rented two worlds and Kane & Lynch: Dead men.

Both suck. Hard. Two Worlds framerate is choppy beyond all belief, the comabt is boring (Hit attack three times and then hit dodge.) K&L has the worst cover system ever invented. You don't go into cover manually you wait until Kane decides if he wants to take cover. That's right, sometimes Kane will refuse to take cover, even if you killed an enemy the was right the same spot.

Enemies pop up from no-where. Your gun couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, while the enemy despite taking a good 5 minutes to think wether or not he wants to shoot you has a perfect bead on your head.

for some reason CoD4 looks like crap on PS3, I dunno what it is, still fun though :/

Haven't played K&L, but I agree with justdistant on the two worlds front. That was just about the ********* game I have ever played. The game felt like I was back playing on the PSone, clunky controls and the worst next-gen graphics I have ever seen. The menu's were difficult to navigate and the weapon and stat systems were the most ridiculous pieces of **** I have ever seen. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about the game. I played about 30 minutes and then returned it for a full refund.

On a lighter note, mass effect kicks ***. You should definitely pick it up.

I've heard exceedingly average and mediocre things about Kayne and Lynch, not that it's a terrible game, but that it does get old fairly quickly, and that the A.I. is shabby, but I can't give a first-hand experience. I've heard very positive things about mass effect, however.

My blue dragon experience is limited to playing the 360 at gamestop when all of the customers clear out, and I got bored in about 15 minutes. Tried it again another day and still nothing really caught my eye. Even the spells seem straight out of a final fantasy, and the artistic style is same as dragon quest.

Brill you have currently listed the only games worth purchasing..
- CoD 4 Modern Warfare (if you play thru, you will beat it in a night, but the multiplayer is priceless and the game's story is very well done for a FPS)
- Bioshock awesome single player game that is very very rich in story for a FPS
- Mass Effect the only downer I have heard thus far is that it tends to be shorter than an RPG should be.. I don't know seriously what the expected time investment was for this game but seriously the demo vids make it look VERY impressive.
- Assassin's Creed is very good albeit short. If you can score it as a previously owned game, save a few bucks or even rent it to make the decision
- Timeshift actually was very surprised at how fun this game is

Titles to stay away from:

- Kane and Lynch, pure unadulterated crap, it was made to look good but it fails on so many levels.
- Area 51: Blacksite.. Demo makes it fun, but playing past the demo you will instead take a small cal handgun to your temple for buying it.
- Blue Dragon , if you like Dragon Ball and it's series, buy this game because the artist from DB drew all the characters and was a main hand in the story (hence why it does so well in Japan but is getting yawns here stateside)
- Tenchu Z a total failure from the Tenchu series, boring and VERY repetitive.

Backwards compatible worth getting:

- Fable
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Jade Empire

I honestly liked Jade Empire more than Knights of the Old Republic.

If you liked Jade Empire more because of the combat system, then you'll definitely like Mass Effect. A lot. My only complaint is that it's relatively short for a BioWare RPG, but there's still loads of sidequests to immerse yourself in if you insist on extending the playtime. Everything else is pure magic.

If you're looking for a good RPG, then I recommend Eternal Sonata. It came out around the same time as Blue Dragon, but blows it away in nearly every regard. The combat system is some of the most fun I've had in an RPG. And because I love music in general, the entire thing was a kind of easter egg for me. Smiley: tongue

I hated the fact that you never got to go to ************* phoenix gate! All thought that game people were like "ohhh phoenix gate is so prosperous and awesome woooo!" and you never even get to see it.

Aside from that I wasn't very fond of the lack of items. You could get into a damn deathtrap in some fights simply for lack of healing. For example, the final fight in the colleseum against that dude, and he summoned those horse demons to fight against you. You could actually get into a situation (just by getting hit once or twice) which made it impossible to finish the fight, because you take damage whenever you hit the things. If you're out of chi with which to heal, it's an automatic restart. Would it have been so hard to just make a potion item?

Not to say that the game wasn't fantastic... because it was still amazing. It just felt like it traded a lot of good game features from KOTOR for a nicer presentation and battle system.

Man you must have sucked at Jade Empire Smiley: tongue Even if there were items, you never needed them. All the different forms were more than adequate at keeping you alive. Low on health? Switch to the style that stuns enemies and drains their magic and heal yourself etc.

I still wish they would make Knights of the Old Republic 3 or Jade Empire 2. Those are some fantastic games that they just aren't capitalizing on right now.

Mass Effect is an amazing game, Indeed I felt it was too short, but it has amazing capabilities(sp?), and I would definitely call it the 2nd best game of 2007, after CoD4.

Of course CoD4 if you like shooters, its just everything you will ever like in an FPS.

If you never got Conker: Live and Reloaded, get it, should be pretty cheap now, and its crazy good, amazing graphics for an xbox, and the humor (while stupid at times) is pretty hillarious. Good Multiplayer too.

Halo 3 lets say... its pretty good, but most people can agree that its not what was expected, still good if you liked halo 1 and 2.

Assassin's creed is a must-have if you like freedom of movement. It's basically Parkour-in-a-box...
With blades.

Army of two (When it comes out) will be a must-have.

If you like driving games, Dirt is a pretty good game, and a good competition to Forza Motorsport and PG3, all that's left is a matter of decition.

Heard Two Worlds was crap. Just another rip-off and really haven't read anything good about it.

Downloaded the demo to Blue Dragon. It's bland, boring, and a little slow for me, if you want to give it a chance grab the demo off the marketplace.

Halo 3 although short if your played the other two and you familiar with the story I suggest picking it up. If you get bored of the campaign then you can always play matchmaking.

If you don't like half life, Portal and Team Fortress make up for it. Portal is a little puzzle game, and Team Fortress is just a quaky class based game, and is a good relief when Halo gets annoying.

If you can grab Call of Duty 4, good game, great storyline and the online in light of the latest xbl slowdown is solid and worth playing.

Unless they are immune to support forms, which demons were.
