New player needing some guidance.Follow

#1 Dec 08 2007 at 7:49 AM Rating: Good
Good evening everyone :)

While I am waiting for the files to download, I am looking for a bit of help and direction.

I am currently taking a break from FFXI, a few things on there were getting to me a bit.

Saw Lotro in the shop, and being a fan of all things Lord Of The Rings, decided to give it a go.

Is there any tips you could give me, or directions to a basics guide?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your time and help in what is a fairly big jump for me.

Welcome to M.E.! I'm not sure where to start, so I'll just offer soome suggestions...but please feel free to post any questions you specifically have.

Make sure you do the tutorial, it explains alot of the basic commands and gives you a good feel for the general play of the game.

Do not rush through things, take the time to appreciate the beauty. People are always in a rush to get thier trade skill maxed out, or thier level, which is fine...but you will end up missing out on alot of things the game has to offer.

Dont waste money buying gear until you're higher level (25+ or higher imo). You will rarely have a weapon or other item more then a few levels while starting out, so they change quick.

Pick a trade that seems 'fun' to you. Not the one that you think makes the most money (which is Explorer btw, just in case you are interested in making money). Nothing gets boring quicker then a tradeskill that you cant stand.

Thank you very much for the response, and sorry I didn't get back to you sooner (nap time lol)

Well, all files have been downloaded, and I am ready to go! The screenshots look fantastic, the players are very helpful, and I am really looking forward to this!

I haven't really looked into tradeskills yet, I'm having a look at a few websites atm and getting the general feel for the game.

Thank you for the welcome :)

Youre welcome. Also, there is an allakhazam kinship on Meneldor (if you choose that server). Do a search for "There is no Fifth Star" ...or send me a message and we can get you an invite.

Plus check out the kin site @ http://tinfs.guildportal.com
