level 20 captain armamentsFollow

Probably have it spelled wrong for the spell checkers. But I'm talking about the range slot item captains get at level 20.

Are some more powerful than others and do they give a boost to your companion, bannor carrying, pet?

If anyone has any information on them could you post a link or direct me to somewhere to find out more about them.

Thanks and once again I apologise for the spelling problems.

you spelled it correctly. i had my tailor make some up for my captain but then i saw that the captain trainer sells the same stuff. that was odd since i hadn't see that same kind of thing with other classes.

anyway, the armament does 2 things that i know of.
1) changes the appearance of your herald
2) adds some armor, either "slight increases" or "increases", if i recall the wording correctly.

the buffs increase either with level or with deed, i can't remember exactly. i just know that somehow i got my Might/Agi herald to the same as what I saw some other captains having, and finally this weekend, my Morale/Regen herald can do +300 Morale and +1 Hope (this one definitely increased because of deed).

later i heard a kin tailor talking about how the crit version of the armament is the one that increases more than just slightly. so if that's the case, it seems to me that regular would be fine, as i have run with the non-crit armament for many levels without feeling like i'm performing unsatisfactorily.

There are about 5 of them. I am carrying around all 5 in my inventory slots. So other than appearance there is no difference in one over the other?

I though one would increase attack, one would increase armor ect...

In conclusion to take up less inventory space find one you like apperance wise and go with that?

Thanks!

Anxiously awaiting your reply.

Having one in your range increases the armor (and alters the appearance) of your herald. Having the crit version increases the herald's armor even more.

I do not think there are any other differences. I carry two versions (both crit) of shieldmaiden and swordswoman (my captain is female too, I does like the ladies..). You get the main buff difference by summoning different types of herald (War, Hope, Victory).

I also have a crit version of the war banner. Now the banners do have different effects. War banner buffs like the War Herald, Hope like the Hope Herald, etc.

yes, that's right, now that i know which herald-type i like, i will only make/buy that one, since their effect is the same regardless of appearance.

to increase the stats that they provide, you have to summon them a certain number of times (one of your class deeds).

as for the banners versus the heralds, i had always wondered if i would ever use the banners (ie, have to buy the skill). well last nite i met a captain whose herald kept dying. i guess that would have been a good time to use banners instead. mainly he probably was sending the herald to go fight something instead of assisting the tank, but considering that this is how he plays, it would be better to have a banner so the + effect remains, rather than disappear mid-way through a fight.
